I'm far from a Friedman fanboy but I just listened to the clips that Nik listed as High Gain AH100 and  . It might be they way the clips were recorded but it did not even come close the BE100 gain or tone, it sounded loose on the lows and congested with no high end detail, ( I did not listen to the clean channel) maybe I will listen again but it was far from impressive and does not compare to a BE100 or BE modded Marshall clips out there. Am I the only who hears it this way? Just calling it the way I heard it.

Now I also heard bad clips of the Chupa and then some good ones maybe that is what it is going on here...
I agree, and I know there are many who dig the Ceriatone stuff. But every single one that I've played, granted it was at a Music Go Round or GC, have been decent amps but nothing special. Now, I don't know who built them or what transformers were use etc but when I played the AFD Ceriatone it was very meh...as was the Ceriatone Jubilee, even the Yeti was just OK. Much rather play a stock Marshall with a pedal...of course, I like a stock Marshall better than most of the Friedman stuff too, so there's that...

Dont worry, there's not a single Ceriatone clip in the whole web that sounds remotely similar to the amp they are referring to.

huge difference between just a raw mic in the room or even just the phone mic and super glossy studio clips with a bunch of professional post production magic. i think its normal to instinctively think your amp sounds better if you spent a bunch of money on it.

I've heard some great I-phone and ZOOM clips of Cameron, Friedman BE and Modded Marshalls, Landry, Marshalls. I generally prefer in room mics to pro studio clips to hear the amp. Landry uses the ZOOM Q3 and his amps sound monstrous in his YT clips...

I'm not trying to bag on the AH100 but it doesn't quite live up to it's hype nor did the King Kong. Scottosan BE100 clone sounded great and very close to the amp he was trying to emulate and I think they were I-phone.

Thanks. Mine were recorded with an Iphone 6+. I think cabs have alot to do with how the Ceriatone stuff video are lacking. 46&2 and a few others on here have posted some great sounding clips. The reality is that the other 98% play them through crap cabs and don't have a general sense on how to dial in an amp at all.

Yeah, you can't really judge by clips. Let alone Ceriatone's clips (which tend to sound awful). There are a handful of Yeti and Chupa and Ceriatone Silver Jub clips out there that sound good. But they still sound better in the room. No biggie in the grand scheme of things.

When I record an amp with just an iPhone or my computer mic or something, I try to get it off axis and with some distance from the cab, so you're not getting the direct beaming effect right from the speaker cone and all that harsh fizz and high-end. And you get a bit of the room.
