Anybody getting the new Jackson Randy Rhoades CD1?

That's about twice what it should be.

Made in USA guitar sales numbers should start to rise with this kind of pricing. A nice V can be had for that, or a like-new LP standard. You got a $2500 Korean guitar, $1900 Indonesian guitars, Chinese guitars hitting $1500-1600. I'm not sure what they are smoking overseas these days, it's actually kind of humorous.
The whole market is whacked. COVID prices and it’s dead af…

Yeah, the price of pretty much everything needs to come down by about 40% to see any real correction. Don't worry, it won't.

It's absolutely ridiculous at this point. Watching everyone spend this kind of big money on import guitars is infuriating.

Especially considering the quality levels. My biggest local mom and pop has a bunch of the jackson pro x series, the import series that are all between 1200-1600 bucks, and the QC is insanely hit and miss

For guitars that cost THAT much, that is inexcusable

You can get an American RR24 for 2800 and probably better if a stores had one for a minute.
It’s pure nostalgia bate, pure and simple. They threw a $1000 ‘member berries charge on a $1500 guitar.

Even at 1500 bucks, thats the absolute upper end for a WMI guitar

and fuckin a, i LIKE wmi guitars

but that's completely ridiculous

I was looking at the PRS hollowbody ii's...they have a larger body now and some other upgraded features vs the older models but still the same half assed SE tuners. Made in Indonesia. $1899! With tax that's over 2k. Who would actually buy one of those brand new? I paid $2240 for a 335 on super clearance a year ago, LOL.

I honestly have no idea man. I would assume people who don't know any better?

It gets way worse than that. Check out the prices on those headless monstrosities, like the strandbergs that are made in indonesia LOL

I swear man, gear is lost on the people with the money to buy it

I have no idea what people think these days. If I am spending 2k on a guitar I am literally scouring reverb, ebay, and GC/MF used just to see what else might be an option in those price ranges. I suppose the mentality and greater gap between the haves and have nots might be a factor but I just can't wrap my head around a 2,000 dollar Indonesian axe, or a $2500 korean one. Japan is the only orient country of manufacture that carries any $ cred with me.

Same, and that took me years, and many, many solid guitars to get over my skepticism

I have not seen a SINGLE example of an indo, chinese, etc guitar that was even close to the level of the guitars made in the US, japan, germany, etc

Eastman’s been charging big bucks for Chinese made for years. I haven’t played one that made me feel it was worth it. Especially when I could get a used Gibson for less than the Eastman.
