I'd like to just go with a regular nut and vintage type trem though.Vrad":1srdk3wg said:Randy Van Sykes":1srdk3wg said:Vrad":1srdk3wg said:Randy Van Sykes":1srdk3wg said:I love the neck shape and the fretboard radius. The necks are really comfortable feeling...super easy to play.
I dig the hardware and the pickups they're using...it's a killer superstrat, on paper, it's my dream guitar.
I recently bought a So Cal and a San DImas and sold them, I wanted to love them but they're just not for me.![]()
They don't really have those in-between straty tones, my guess that's why they're not for you. I bet if you built an HSS Charvel:
Charvel neck + alder So Cal body
Strat pickguard (with some kind of PAF + good single coils) with a 5-way switch and tone controls.
Chrome floyd (or maybe vintage trem)
That would rule...![]()
I still have a San Dimas here. I'd like to just keep the neck.
I've been thinking over the past week that I should disassemble it, sell the parts off individually and just keep the neck to start over with a new body...I know I like the neck, which is a great start.![]()
Keep it and put it on a more strat-inspired body... It will RULE!!
Maybe I could somehow place a nut where the locking nut was?
Waht say you!!
