To much bro. You know I’m a cheap ho….
Ohhh shit yeah crackerI bought one for 50 bucks. I'm just telling you what to look for
It you want alot of low end you may have to look at a tube power amp with resonance or depth mods, like a Peavey 50/50 classic or even a VHT power amp but the VHT aint cheap. Most of the SS amps don't have tons of low end, even my Matrix GT1000FX amp is a little low end light, I had a Mosvalve and it was meh at best. I don't think any of this Class newer D stuff performs like class A/B amp do.
What about these crowns and qsc amps? Any good? Always see them around used….
If Frank uses them I would guess with a good preamp they would give you everything you need. What about these crowns and qsc amps? Any good? Always see them around used….
Crown is an American classic. They put out a lot of great amplifiers that stood the test of time. I went to Graceland as a kid and guess what amplifiers Elvis used at home. Crown. What about these crowns and qsc amps? Any good? Always see them around used….
I had a crown power amp back in the early 2000's for a band P.A before everything went to powered speakers. It was a good unit.Found a 2000 watt crown that looks promising….
Yeah I think a power amp with large transformers with large filter capacitors to deliver that low end thump. That's why those huge car stereos have huge filter caps incorporated into the how they drive the sub woofers. After using my GT1000fx for years, I recently drug my old ART SLA-2 out of the closet that I haven't used in years. I was surprised that I actually preferred it to the Matrix because the low end seems to hit harder. I think the issue is the Matrix has a small switching power supply so it can't bring those huge low end spikes. The ART has a huge ass transformer in it, which I assume can provide more power for big chugs.
The only thing with the crowns is you have to pick up some 1/4" adapters if they have those binding posts and XLR connectors but the adapters are fairly cheap to get.Found a 2000 watt crown that looks promising….
