Thanks for the post Paul

The Kahler has always been my tremolo of choice especially when I was younger. Back then I couldn't play a Floyd equipped guitar for more than a song or two without breaking strings. Also, I only like trems that float so a Kahler sounded better to me than a floating Floyd because it didn't flutter while just playing. Now a days I can and do play on any floating trem. I'm not sure what changed but I'm guessing I'm not as heavy handed anymore.

As for keeping the Kahler in tune I never used chapstick on mine. For lubrication I would use One Lube synthetic or clock oil but mostly I just kept them clean. I would take them all apart and clean them at every string change which is a pain in the butt. After every gig I'd have to clean them or the rollers lock up from dried sweat. Over all they can stay in perfect tune if they are in perfect shape which very hard to keep up on.

I’ve had many Kahlers and this was my deal as well. I sweat so much that I couldn’t keep up with making sure I took almost the entire unit apart all the time. They would constantly bind on me but I do love the feel of them over Floyd’s. Great playing man

Oh yes, I remember Condesa Del Mar. Not only did I play there a couple of times, but my wedding reception was there too!

Roller Wheels!... Yes I was. I went to shows there all the time. I also used to see EF at a club out in Harvey called Just Angels, who used to let us young kids in. Brian Schrofek (sp?) was a really good guitarist too (RIP). I follow the memorial page for him on FB that his mom runs.

Yeah UltraGary, that's Reimer from EF in the video! They invited Stewart back for the reunion, but he declined. He's got a life in Vegas, and I don't think he's even involved in music anymore. That guy had a unbelievable voice. Truly a phenomenal vocalist. It's a shame he's not active. Not really a replaceable singer, but Steve has done a great job of it. Were you around for their shows back then? The first time I saw them was in '85 with Emeralds Faith at Roller Wheels and that show changed my life.
Yeah, I saw a few shows at Roller Wheels. I remember seeing Pantera (Chicago's), Viacuda, and a few others I can't recall. I was never at Just Angels. How about Condesa Del Mar? Ever hang there? They had some killer shows there.
