Played a chubtone once and thought that the Pacifica that cost 200 bucks sounded and played better.

:emofag: :grim:
Also tried a "luxxtone" and wasn't impressed.
It’s acceptable now days. Some boys like Barbies and some like GI Joes. We’re not here to judge.

All hilarity aside, I guess we all have different tones we like but even more so, "feel". Based on everything I've read here on the forum, and knowing there are a ton of players my age with the same love of 80s hot-rodded guitars, I don't think I would be disappointed.

I sent Curt an email yesterday with a rough idea of what I'm trying to get done. I have no doubt they can deliver but figured I'd run it by the shop and see if it is doable.

I’m definitely a fanboy. I have #17 and and 104. Beat bang for the buck. Oiled neck is the way to go. You can pretty much any paint color and hardware and pickup you want. I even had custom wound pickups sent to them. Very accommodating. You need to follow them on Instagram

I actually "finally" finalized my order with Curt based on what is now known as the "scottosan" body style of the rising sun guitar. Still got a few months to go though before I get it lol.

Imagine getting this salty over an opinion on the internet.

Who’s salty ? To say that a POS Pacifica is “better” than a couple of well know companies guitars (who both happen to be members here BTW) is just being an asshole. If you haven’t got anything nice to say...STFU

I was busting you balls if you couldn’t tell. While the Chubtone and Luxxtone may not be the right style for everyone, I can’t see hoe anyone that like those style guitars wouldn’t like either one. Do you even like Charvel style guitars?

We all tease each other here on the forum man, it's all good brother. Trust me, I can't repeat half the things these goons have said to me over the years. Involved donkeys and leather zipper masks.....

I know your question was directed to jabps but I'm actually wanting a tattered German flag look for mine if he can do it. I thought it would be cool in a relic look.

Good choice! I've got 111 and have a candy tangerine build I'm trying to get started soon... was thinking of switching it up a bit, maybe a 59/custom hybrid bridge PU... either same or no neck pu... upgrade the neck from 111 and maybe roasted, but not sure how that would look with tangerine. anyway, here's mine!

Sammy said "green aint mean compared to red", but he never rocked a green Chubtone LOL

Sort of a cross between a strat style and a dinky style.

Yep, basically the strat with the edges squared as opposed to rounder and what looks like a hair more cutout (if any) on the lower horn. I just know as soon as I saw the rising sun shape, that settled my order as I was going back and forth on the Dinky, the true Dinky (Curt can explain)and the standard shape.

I'm still a few months away but will post as soon as it gets here. I also went with Curts largest neck, not that I like baseball bat necks but I've come to like something a little more substantial. My Charvel DK's...that shape just fatigues my hand to no end after about 30 mins. So the #3 is more in line with my Les Pauls and PRS's shapes.

Can you guys give some examples of the Standard and Dinky from the site? I like more of the rounded 80s Charvel San Dimas look so would that be standard shape? I need to get my ideas together so I can get my order in.

The birdseye Maple looks sick on those!! I gotta get that for sure.

look at mine about 3 posts up, green with the crooked single HB neck... that is a dinky. Big smaller and squared off.
