ClintN667 is a Fake and a Fraud

"Sent threatening messages" so he has the right to "cancel the refund"? How strange.

I am assuming the threating messages were whilst the refund was pending/processing?

Was the refund in a "pending" status, and you kept threating harm to someone anyway due to the refund not being immediate?

I do not believe someone should "cancel the refund" due to this, but definitely sounds like we aren't getting quite all of the data here.

Whatever happens - I hope both parties get this resolved in the quickest/best way possible.

I wonder if his account wasn't hacked. That has happened to a few people this year on TGP and here. If it was or wasn't hacked the OP has every right to post this possible fraud deal.

At this point can the buyer get his credit card company to claw the money back and then let Paypal fight it out with the seller?

Hopefully the seller makes things right soon or Riffs can get his money back.

Well LE has his apartment complex but no apartment number. They will find him make no mistake. I need to stop commenting here. I stand by everything I say. Fraud is fraud regardless if it's PayPal FF or PayPal Goods & Services.
Thanks for listening

What's PayPal saying? Anything? I'd call them. They're not as useless as many think. They've gone out of their way for me on multiple occasions. Of course none were F&F payments, but I think they'd listen if you told them you were just oblivious to the F&F payment and you were scammed.

They washed their hands of the transactions due to FF. Law enforcement sees it differently as it is legally fraud.
Thanks man

I hope it is misunderstanding and will get fixed. I like both @riffsfordaze and @ClintN667

Clint has not been logged in here since Oct 9th? :dunno:

I found the FS thread and it is a sick guitar

@riffsfordaze - threatening people or 'showing up' as you put it isn't going to help your case if PP, the bank, Law Enforcement, a lawyer, etc finds this thread. I'd stay on the high road through this until you have resolution but that's me. What if Clint was in a serious accident and can't talk or type let alone log in and reply etc etc. What if he lost a wife or child? Just sayin'. I'm sure he would chime in here if he was able.

I have told LE I sent him threatening messages. I have nothing to hide. Where I come from you do what you say and you say what you mean, simple! I will stop now.
Thank you brother

Same here brother but we live in a sue happy society so I 'usually' try to look at this shit through the eyes of a lawyer.

Plus Clint is good people so I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around this 'misunderstanding'. Just not like him but I've seen crazier things. Hope you get your money back or that sick fucking guitar would be so sweet :D

On a related note, is it not also fraud to send/receive Friends and Family when you are actually purchasing goods online from someone who is not your friend or family?
I can't believe I just took that angle lol. I am more curious than anything though; cops might see this as you gave a friend $ and if you wanted t purchase something you just put yourself in hot water?

Regardless, I hope it resolves quickly

True!
Technically speaking I thought we are all friends on Rigtalk and watch out for each other at least in the classifieds. Even tho we may have different opinions on well maybe everything. IDK

@riffsfordaze yeah, this situation sucks. Clint has been here for years and this guitar looked cool. Sorry it got all whack.
I used to wheel and deal and flip all the time but this kind of stuff is deflating. People Suck

Can it be against PayPal's user agreement? Yes. Is it fraud? No.

PayPal's Goods and Services is for commercial transactions. Buying a piece of used gear from a private individual hardly constitutes a commercial transaction, unless the seller is consistently doing it for profit. If you want buyer protection, use Goods and Services. If you don't, use F&F and save yourself the fees, but with the risk of no buyer protection. Either way, it's not fraud.

i hope @riffsfordaze gets his money back first off, or guitar. But something just smells off about all of this. I'm not saying I "know" Clint but this just doesn't seem on brand for him.
Yeah, a couple of months ago I did a search for Clint because he builds amp kits and I wanted to see if he had done something recently. I'm pretty sure when I checked his profile he hadn't logged on here in 6 or 9 months. Hopefully someone didn't hack his account and get pics of his guitar and post them here. Where is the classified where this was sold?

Sure. But why justify cancelling the payment if it is a hacker?
To keep the ruse going as long as possible.

Then it makes it look even moreso like the person, who now has law enforcement looking into them, as opposed to a thief online.

I'm just having fun running with it.
