Loooong story short-ish. Old bro from back in the day reconnects with me after we play a reunion show in 2010 or so. I help him out a lot as we write his second album, including letting him paw thru my amp collection. He takes my 5153 on tour during the writing process, but it doesn't inspire him. He is eyeing my Utraleads hard and buys one of them. Then on the next tour he takes another one as a spare. I get my spare back after the tour, but get fucked on writing credit for the new album. Friendship fallout. End result, I loose a lot effort, time and the money he owes me.

Fast forward to a couple of months ago when a real bro sends me a pic of a Facebook page from old "bro" showing he got my old Utralead back from repair nightmare. Best bro then goes on old "bro" Facebook page and says "Marty would like his old amp back for all the money you owe him." I wind up getting a tour worn old amp of mine back. We call it even and reconnect.

Rigtalk resident Griff agrees to give the old dog a makeover. Now, I could wax poetic about our boy Griff, but at this point nothing needs to be said. He has proven himself time and again what a great guy he is. And kudos to my man Juggernaut Mike for blasting "bro" on Facebook to make this happen in the first place. And also big love to Bloodrock Chris for getting the amp up and running(needed a preamp tube)and pulling the shell for shipping to Griff. Pics that follow show the Facebook post, the amp when I got it back and how she looks now.

Fuck that amp. He was all excited when Randall endorsed him. But he knew in his heart that amp sucked balls.

I love mine... 😕
Pretty sure I have that same cab, too.
RD412V30?
That's cool that you got your VHT back.
What modules are you rocking in the RM?

Have not had a Randall module head in over 15 years, but back then i had a bunch of jaided faith modded modules. The randall in the pic next to the pittbull is a thrasher.

I meant the one next to it on the bottom picture where the VHT is recovered.

how's it sound? I love my CL100. Always wanted to try an UL.

An all time favorite for me. I did the upward crawl with VHT. First it was a 50/ST with a graphic that I got from Jaded Faith. That little amp head made every other amp in my room sound weak. I was laughing as i played it. I suddenly "got it". Then I traded a Diamond Nitrox for a VHT Classic 2X12 combo with graphic. Then I got my first Ultralead and lost my mind. Had a bunch of them at one point, including a Tweed head that was so pretty. They were selling for $1600 used at the time! I blame Juggernaut Mike. He was then one who kept saying "I know you. You need to get a UL.". He was right, it was THE amp for me. It made me a better player. As I concentrated more on my picking, it rewarded me which gave me more confidence, which made me dig in more and more. The vicious cycle of input/reward over and over. Eventually it just became natural and effortless.

sick man. I got my CL for 800 back in the day, lol. It's a beast, I can only imagine how good the UL is. Misha posted a vid back in the day, and I needed to check one out, lol.

I remember seeing Old Man Gloom in 2013 and Aaron Turner's tone was devastating. He brought a GP3 on tour and was running it into the fx return of rental backline. I just had to get one. Got a 2/90/2 to pair with it later. Also bought a CL100 in recent years.

Man, that is a time machine ride right there. That's how I learned about bulb and then periphery, these boxer wearing straight outta bed playthroughs.

Miss those days.🤘

He used that VHT throughout ISIS and I've always wanted one for that reason. I'm glad I got to see them back then.
