Killer clip! Killer tone! Killer playing! Killer amp!

Did I mention it was "killer"???

Is it possible to do some clips in standard tuning too?

Just got back from vacation late last night...I will be working on the video to accompany this clip tomorrow.

I have to be honest, I'm not loving this clip at all. The mid character is pretty congested and there is a lack of sparkle. I've heard much better productions that you've done in the past.

I was gonna say something real diplomatic, like you're opinion counts as much as anyone's.....but, nah! You are mistaken! This clip is badass. Get some q-tips and send me a Paypal invoice.

I thought it sounded good but see gregs point.

I honestly dont think its the mids but lack of bass maybe.

Wondering how it would sound in a bigger or.ported cab.

Also am not familiar with the mixing of power tubes or what not.

Yea, something about this one is sounding a little weird to me. I think the mids may have been pushed a bit above and beyond here on the main rhythm bits? It did achieve the goal of sounding mean though! The lead lines also sound pretty awesome.

On the upside, it doesn't sound like every single other cut/paste "metal" clip on the internet! Interested to see vids with settings etc.

This amp has a lot of mids and they are a bit different sounding than most amps I have played. I went for a ton of mids because it filled out and complimented the low end of the amp when I pushed them. What you hear is the amp's character, not some eq'd out super polished tone. I don't think ultra eq'd clips are very genuine and honest.

There is almost no post eq on this track at all...only a slight bump at 4.4khz to add some top end. That is it, nothing else.

I never have gone for the same old same old tone in my clips...I'm not big on eq-ing the fuck out of something to dress it up. I too think that lots of metal clips sound cut and pasted, especially the re-amped DI tracks that are floating around out there. Every one of my clips is an original composition. For better or worse, that is how I do it.

Yeah, the majority of your clips are killer but I'm not feeling this at all. I loved the Lickliter modded JCM 800 clip Mr. Lickliter did recently, so I'm sure a better clip of this amp will be forthcoming

This amp has NOTHING in common with a Marshall tone and feel-wise and is not close to his modded Marshall. Apples and Oranges.

BUMP FOR NEW CLIP ADDED.

Thanks for the comments the Lickliter XD120. I think both clips sound great. I have gigged this amp before I shipped it for these clips and it feels and sounds incredible and has alot of tones availiable. There is no replacement of actually playing the amp and being in front of the speakers!
Here is the JCM800 that was mentioned, but the only thing that was Marshall was the chassis with the original Drake power transformer. This was a 100% custom that doesn't reflect anything close to a Marshall. The amp has found a new home on the west coast and hopefully we can get some fresh clips soon. Here is the modded 50 watter.
