The crappy old vypyr 15.
A good $50 alternative to practice when your on the go.

Shit playing, shitty mood unfortunately, bad week.

Always found it hard to play on the fly, easier to improvise over backing tracks.

Anyway

Used to have a 75wVyper with the sanpera2 pedal. It was really a bad ass amp.
The 6505 green, iirc, was a really good setting. Did a nice vh tone

Playing is fine man. Shitty week and all. Tomorrow is Friday so hell yes.

I honestly like the Vyper everytime I played it. When I used to frequent the local music store they always had that 75 watt one I would plug into. Pretty sure its going to be my next practice amp.
Great playing too man!
But you know....in the corner of the room....
your 5150 III fifty watter was watching you cheat on her. Be careful. A scorned amp is hells fury.

Thanks  My problem with the evh, is that I live in a condo and can never really turn it loud enough to saturate. It sits there waiting to go to band practice.. not so much lately either. I find myself going to the peavey or 15watt marshall haze that I modded to 800 specs, and even that is too loud to properly get power saturation.

Pisses me off to the point where I consider the axe fx route.

I am almost at the opposite of what you described.
Got a jam room with my drummer and Full PA system with a full stack cranking!!
I never ever play in the house at a quieter level. I need to get something for that.
The Vyper has been on my radar for some time. Just never pulled the trigger.

It's not much of a trigger to pull

I'd trade any day with you dude. You have great gear!

I have nothing in the house. Had a little vox combo that I gave to my buddy with that Kramer.
Gotta get a replacement. :D

I'm confused...saturate?? Its all preamp gain!! Cmon man!!

That's not nice.

Update.. As of 4/10, the EVH 5153 50 has been SOLD.
Sad day here at the compound, but like any other tragedy, this too shall pass. :aww:

The amp in the current radar is the ENGl Blackmore.
My playing style works better with a not so compressed tone and the EVH didnt really give me that option, the high gain was fine imo, especially after this weekend when I plugged into an oversized Mesa 4x12. The tone was rich and full. very impressed with that cab.

The ENGL will give me that hot rodded plexi tone that I always look for, ( grab a strat, play some harmonic minor licks and whalah ,)
and a good high gain channel which I need equally.

I think especially for the price they go for, it will suit me better.

Yeah...Engl
Fuck the world
That is one bad mutha. Your gonna love it.

Nice video of your leg. Did you just hit record on your phone, toss it on the floor, and let it land wherever or was that, like, the sonic sweet spot on your floor? Very avante garde.

I think so to. It has the different voicings for what I want. I can deal with the high gain easier than I can with the hot rod'd plexi tones.
I am particular to those. The yjm100 was on my radar for a while, but in high gain areas, it doesn't cut it for me. It's Vintage plexi however is great imo!

The engl seems like a better option.

No, but I was meaning to delete it.
You may be on to something.. next time, I may just do that.

Definitely gonna be more thicker mid heavy. To me thats just a little 'added beef' to the recipe.
Dont change the flavor of the jams. Just thickens it up. ;)

WHAAAT???????? That's it, I'm going off the grid......

I can honestly say that I liked the amp alot. As I stated above, this past weekend I got to plug it through an oversized Mesa 4x12 with V30's.

Sounded so nice and balanced. BUT.. and this is not anything new, I still need the blackmore/yngwie, hot rod'd plexi tone and the evh obviously doesnt have it.

I really should've waited in the first place. Was fun, cut through nicely, much better than the RD45 I had and used with the same band.

The grid is overrated anyway..  I am totally off the social media grid for a good 1.5 yrs now. Don't need it.

The cool thing is you can always get another..lots available!

I dont know about that. The EVH 5153 50 sells out rather quickly.
An item that is used on stages across the globe and in highest demand, the EVH 5153 50 rivals its 3-4k competition, ala Deizel, Freidman etc.

All Hail the mighty EVH 5153 50

 :worship: \:D/ :jerkit:
