Counting the days...

Letting the current government of Iran exist - even though it's the result of US and UK internal interference - for 40+ years was a mistake; and the longer we waited to deal with this regime the more difficult and costly it became. Reagan should have taken them out before they gained total and solid control of Iran, while they were still weak. Once they started abusing their own people at a large scale, and the people tried to uprise we had another chance, and obama did nothing but send them cash for nothing.

This is the price the US has to pay with interest for the 1953 Iran coup and installation of the Shah. Its long overdue, and worth the price IMO.
If your enemy thinks they are in control, even though you pull the daily strings and control the direction year after year, is that necessarily a bad thing for you? Yeah, they roar once in a while, and you pat them on the head and keep them in their box

Or do you take out this enemy completely, only to face a new and likely more unpredictable one that may resent and despise you for generations.

I'm talking the containment vs regime change argument. You are for the latter?

The containment wasn't completely effective; the conflict clearly demonstrates they built a sizeable military capability and planned to continue to expand it into nuclear weapons...combined with their hatred toward the US (initially because of the 1953 coup and shah), why would we allow an Iranian regime that hates us and wants to destroy us continue to grow their military strength and nuclear aspirations?

If someone tells you they want to kill you, and their actions continue to demonstrate they are working toward obtaining the ability to kill you, do you wait until they try to kill you, or take them out first?

The US and UK created this mess in Iran; now they're finally cleaning up this mess. The current Iraq and Libya are messes we created too, and failed to deal with, that we'll have to deal with in the future. For now, I'd like to see the IRG ended, and let the Iranians sort it out for themselves with limits on their military aspirations...which we should have done in Ukraine as well (another mess the US created with the Maidan coup, and Minsk accords).

so to be clear: I support the US cleaning up the mess we created in Iran in 1953 with regime change and complete elimination of the IRG.

Fair enough. It's definitely not black and white and most decisions get made in the gray. Containment works but so can regime change, in the right conditions and circumstance.

Either way, Congress should have been involved.

well "keep it simple and blame others for their situation" flavored propaganda always works on low-IQ demoncrats and other assorted libtards.
Nah, that's bullshit. Who ran on the platform of low gas prices and no more regime change? Now all of the sudden high gas prices and regime change are in vogue again?

Now they squeal "ah'm happy to pay high gas prices if it means less terrorism...derp derr derp...."

That's fucked up.
Now tell us again how you don't wish your political opponents any ill will, you lying piece of shit.
Oh, I do wish him death and will celebrate when it happens. I hope it comes swiftly, non violently and in his sleep.

Just like any other war criminal.

Seems to be his new thing. He gets tired and lazy and just says 'good puppy' etc.

I didn't like Biden or Harris but I didn't wish they would die. :(
He and captain kirk do it constantly, when they don't have a response.
Then they say "gotta go now bye".
They both do it constantly and it just makes them look retarded.
So unoriginal.
