Why not those other terms? Simple. The ferocity, severity, and prevalence of guns being used to kill people. What's on the news nearly every day? Another mass shooter.Then why no terms such as "knife violence", "car violence", "baseball bat violence", "fist violence" (careful, don't get excited on that one) in common use?

Ever notice how they rarely air stories about drive by shootings which almost always include multiple people being shot, yet they include those cases when it comes time to report a total number of “ mass shootings” ? )

Per capita, orders of magnitude is a gross exaggeration. The uncomfortable fact for those on the left though is this. If you eliminate young, black, urban males from the equation the U.S. is like 17th in the world. And if you eliminate the same group, specifically those 15 to 19 years of age, guns don’t crack the top ten list of things that kill the most children.
