I originally used Mixcraft 3 that I was turned on to years ago by the other guitarist in the band we were in at the time, sounded great and really easy to use! Mixcraft 7 isn't out yet but here is the link to Mixcraft's site and the latest version 6, check it out

I'm using Cubase le5, it works well, great sound and clear recordings. It takes a bit to get a handle on it.If you have used some otehr stuff before it shouldn't be too bad. LE version is stripped, no plugins really,had to buy a couple of packs to get what I wanted,and the install is a bit tricky since you have to go through Steinbergs registration process. Other than that, works good.
