That's such a cool story. I was the biggest Kiss fan when I was from 11-14 years old.rsm":210ianhi said:Well, as a kid I took guitar lessons from a guy that worked in a local music store. I would go into the store occasionally, to look at the guitars I could only dream of owning. Finally, I'm down there to buy my first real guitar in 1978. My guitar teacher is showing me guitars, letting me try them etc., and in walks this dude looking like a "rock star". My guitar teacher says, "you know who that is?" I say, "I've no idea?", he says, Paul Stanley from Kiss. So, big Kiss fan as a kid, this is before they've been seen without their makeup ever. So before I get another word out, my guitar teacher says, "you wanna meet him?"So I meet Paul Stanley, he asks if I like Kiss, I say yes, he asks what's your favorite Kiss song? Without missing a beat, I say, "Hotter than Hell" and that I like the rhythm sound on Alive. So Paul Stanley, shows me how he plays it! I'm some little kid and he is this cool.
BTW, I walked out of the store with a new 1978 Gibson Les Paul Custom, black with gold hardware. It was a very good day!![]()
My first show was Kiss and in 1979, my first guitar, a Les Paul Standard Cherry Sunburst.
BTW, in my band we play 3 Kiss songs
