Does the Sat switch loosen up the low end or make the amp less tight? I wouldn't want that. I like the bottom right where it is and it's not stepping on the bass player like my VHT did.tonmazz":310t429u said:All I can say is that I haven't been browsing the forums lately for one reason. Ever since I got my 79 JMP KS back from Dave, I have been so satisfied that I haven't needed to look for anything else. Best modded Marshall I have ever had!!! The new Modern switch has peaked my curiousity though? Anyone have firsthand experience on exactly what this brings to the table? I would hate to part with this for a 3-4 week timeframe. I'm in PA, 5 days out, 5 days back. Sucks!![]()

If the Modern switch only adds gain, I don't think I'd need it, all the voicings have just enough gain w/o being stupid/fuzzy/mush-tone... Too much gain kills the attack for me unless you can play VERY LOUD!![]()
I'm still waiting for my order of M75-65s to arrive and that'll really help me get the amp's voicing down as far as cabs/speakers go... A quad are going in my old 4 x 12" straight cab. And two are going in my 2 x 12" Marshall vintage cab... After that, I'll know if I even need any "Modern" or "Sat" mod switches (BUT THEY COULDN'T HURT!!)....tonmazz":vvdum0bc said:tubebury51":vvdum0bc said:I wish I'd had Dave toss in the Modern or Sat switch when I had the KS mods done a few weeks back. I like the SAT switch although I don't use it much. I think the natural gain in the HBE is more to my liking but the SAT is awesome too. I would definately suggest getting it without a doubt. You're lucky to be local...if you get the modern, let me know what you think.![]()
