Def Leppard @ The Whisky last week…

I don't care. I run a hugely complex IEM click MIDI system for my band.

But the people who do care, I understand why they care. They want a rock n roll show starting with the drummer counting in on the sticks, lots of stage volume and a human performance. Some folks find dance music and other tempo locked performances a drag, and would rather a live performance.

I just assumed folks here prefer live performances since many grew up in the 70s/80s when bands played live.
I get what you are saying here... I hate the "no amps on stage" trend now.. its terrible sounding- has as much live feel as the pet shop boys.

It is a bigger deal than people realize because when you play to clicks and especially tracks, you now play to perfect tempo and quantization in the modern age. This makes the whole thing sort of drag along. Add the lower tuning in a lot of cases and singers not hitting the big notes and it comes across as lacking energy. KISS does this, Bon Jovi clearly got the click in the ear. Musicians aren't playing off each other anymore, they are playing off the track. I compare it to King Diamond for example where the performance is lively and everybody is playing off each other. ( Though for sure King for sure uses some creative backing vocal tracks in spots as well )
THIS ^^^

I'll go back to my first statement "Neither of us can prove otherwise". That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.

This is getting a little too emotionally/nostalgia biased. If you want to apply objectivity to something we can't prove... I can't continue the conversation.
so once again you can't accept the fact you have completely ignored the fact I am talking about the Whiskey show and you are talking about the bands "live" performance from 5 years ago (your reference) .... so basically I am out because you have no ability to look in the mirror and shoe self awareness

For the third time: "Neither of us can prove otherwise".

"you have completely ignored the fact I am talking about the Whiskey show"
- Inccorect, I addressed this with my opinion in comment 50

"you are talking about the bands "live" performance from 5 years ago"
- Incorrect, I addressed my opinion in comment 50

"you have no ability to look in the mirror and shoe self awareness"
- **show. If either us needs to be self aware, it's the person getting upset/emotional over someone not agreeing with them on the internet about a Def Leppard concert lol.

Why do you care so much? Would it help you move on if I just agreed with you?

Evidence of track use at the Whiskey show:

- Intro click runs then backing loop starts

- Intro synth, drum count in, synths in each verse

- Intro click count in, reverse snare/toms in each verse + effects

Evidence of the band saying they use tracks in there modern live shows:
See post 54.

oh ok .. how weird for a band to use pre recorded keyboard when they don't and never have had a keyboard player ... nice try

speaking of bon jovi:ROFLMAO:

when ken mimics jbj straining at about the 4:50 mark it reminds me of a baby vulture craning out of the nest requesting pre-chewed food from mama

He needs to raise his click volume lmao

At this point i'd rather listen to the click than Jon Bon lol. Man DL is def on a click. Some of those tunes just don't have the energy. That said, I give them credit for attempting the vocal choruses cause of lot of those were rough. Good for them. Keeping it raw for the mom rock!

but aren't you annoyed that DL haven't hired a keyboard player to hold a 2 note pad on 2 songs and instead use pre recorded keys/synth?? I mean fuck it means they aren't "keeping it real" ... we all need to cry about this

I think everyone should demand their money back! those 2 notes are "Two Notes) (plug) too many..

this just in IRON MAIDEN USE PRE RECORDED GUITAR TRACKS but they get a pass because they are your mums favourite band

Where do you hear the recorded tracks here ? Man Bruce could giv'er. What a voice.

Didn’t DL use Mesa 2C+’s or Cameron Marshall’s?

Jeez guys. This is not that serious. Not directed at any one person, but go take a break. Have a drink or a toke….
?????

Seriously, 4 pages talking about DL..... I think we are as boring as the tempo click track they play to now.

so Iron Maiden using guitar tracks is ok?? fuck off dipshit ... a band using triggers for things like keys is fine. Why the fuck would a band hire someone for 30 seconds worth of music ?? you truely are a fuckwit aren't you .. go and give your mom a sponge bath and leave the internet stuff to grown ups
