Is there a difference in circuit for the ones with the metal toggles compared to the plastic rocker switches?

The 22 and 50 calibers are serious high gain amps.
They are based on the Mark series.
And their cleans can be dialed in beautifully.
I still have my 22 I bought in 89

This one hummed a lot, some resistors were freaky soldered (standing "up") to the board (stock) and needed resoldering and replacement - and the miniature reverb tank sucks (I know that you guys won't use it all).
Nice little amp nonetheless.

My only gripe with it is the shared preamp-gain knob really.
Since you can assign the GEQ to only the overdrive channel, you can sculpt two usable eq'd sounds, but getting the angriest overdrive, and a "clean" clean at the same time is difficult.
I saw this mod, so it looks like there's a "cure" for that, though![]()

It should be just another 1M log (audio) pot. Overall both will have 500k then, which brightens the sound a tiny bit though. But since the amp itself isn't already overly bright . . .Ancient Alien":37pjlvcz said:ke2":37pjlvcz said:duesentrieb":37pjlvcz said:I have one on my bench (a 50s "+") right now, its pretty cool sounding. Is that mod on a 22 or 50?
I have an old metal switch Studio 22
And do you know what value pot is used?

You'll be able to get these tones easily. That's exactly how I have mine set up.
I figured a 1M, but want to be sure.duesentrieb":3k5htayq said:It should be just another 1M log (audio) pot. Overall both will have 500k then, which brightens the sound a tiny bit though. I did a little research on these, if you get the Dual cailber series like a DC5, they have separate controls for each channel. They do sound different than the 50 caliber from what I read, but you get more versatility....
