I just flipped my ARES to standby to warm up

Tell ya what man, I've had the ARES for 6 months, and I'm still blown away everytime I plug in. AMAZING amp AMAZING

How do think the ARES will sound though an Orange PPC412 with V30's?

:dunno: I've never played through one. I primarily play mine through an EVH 412 with EVH Greenbacks (25w Heritage Greenbacks), and I've played it a bunch through my Whitebox 2x12 loaded with G12K-100s and the amp kicks all kind of ass through both cabs.

Its one of the most aggressive most pissed off sounding amps I've ever played/owned.

Never owned a Diezel but have played plenty of Kemper profiles to know I’m interested. Perhaps 2018 will bring a VH2...

I've played and recorded with Fokker more than a year and it does not sound piercing or flubby. There is no need to set resonance to 0.
I would not call it a thrash metal amp. It has a soft mid voicing and sounds darker than other amps.
My 6505 is a lot more piercing and flubby.
6505 or Marshall JCM 800 sounds thrashier to me.

I'm not saying that your perception is wrong, and yeah I remember having to eat a couple of words in that discussion, just that I probably dial it in a lot different than most Diezel users. Depending on how loud it is and how much gain, bass at 12:00 is too much. Mine was never piercing, but it did seem a little dark in comparison to my Diezel Paul, so I'd turn up the treble and lower the presence a bit. Even though it's slightly on the darker side, it always sat just right in a mix. If I were to make it sound piercing, I'd have to scoop the mids, and turn up the treble and presence a lot. That's why I say something must be up with that one because that was not the perception I would have gotten. The flubby thing, we'll I've learned that it's rather subjective. On some amps my palm muting sounds great, but through other amps it sounds flubby. When I got into Diezel, I had to change my palm muting technique a bit to get the right sound. Now I don't even think about it anymore. Maybe it could be that the low end is just very unforgiving. Either way, I didn't mean to make it sound like you don't know what you're talking about. It was just a different experience for me.

Are you sure you have read and processed correctly what I originally wrote?

Oh shit. LOL! I got a prescription for glasses a couple of months ago because of this kind of shit.

fokker was angry sounding, a tighter pissed off diezel tone. similar to a vh4 or hagen tone, not the herbert dmoll side. had its own voice like all of them. A/B hagen crushed and einstein did the vintage thing better, so i sent it packing.

channel one with a boost can do leads, for thrash id still choose channel two. can do HEAVY music though below dropped C I would prob pick a different diezel.

the most rudimentary diezel loop. not my fave diezel loop but still kills a bogner loop dead.

literally the only reason to avoid this amp is the color lmao.

I hear fokkers voice loud and clear in this video. he has it boosted on the second channel.

Saw that vid when it was first posted, and its what got me interested in the Fokker. I honestly forgot about this amp for a while, but this thread has revised the Fokker gas. I'm gonna put it in the running for the next amp: Chupacabra>Uber blue or TJ>Fyette Sig x>Lil Fokker.

Didn't get that. Which did you like better? Hagen or Fokker?
