Undocumented people can't register to vote in any national election, so they can't vote unless they do it illegally, somehow. But even if one did, how many more would be able to? Never enough to determine any national election. The same is true for vote-by-mail. I live in Oregon, the first state to go to all vote-by-mail. It's been tested ad nauseum and the 'experts' say it's more secure than traditional in-person voting. Again, the security is in the registration process, and if you can't register you don't get mailed a ballot. If two come in in your name, they hold both until you come in and prove which one is yours. The system is virtually impossible to defeat with the necessarily large number of votes needed to swing an election.
There are some districts or states that allow undocumented people to vote in some local elections, because they pay taxes, have kids in school, drive the same streets, etc. I think a lot of people get local and national election rules mixed up.

There are people in this country that have no birth record, no extra money, no car, pay taxes, and live in the sticks, yet they could be informed enough to vote sensibly. If someone wants to require everyone to have a voter ID, then do whatever it takes to get these people registered first. They don't care to register these people because, bottom line, most of these people would vote Dem and Pubs know it. That is the ONLY reason this movement to ID even exists.

Respectfully, this post makes me think that you don't really understand much about the rural mindset or even the feasibility of registering the very few people that actually fit the profile you've laid out.

Yeah, that's complete bullshit. And I almost guarantee you don't live in "the sticks". I do though. Based on the fact you think you can pay any taxes other than consumption taxes without ID or even a birth record makes me think you're probably not in this country.

I fit about half of his profile. "Styx" is a perspective. I don't think I live in the styx, others think I do. Styx to me is 30-45 minutes to small, sub 5000 population town with a jeep trail for a driveway, IOW awesome lol. Ain't no jehovah's witness or blue gov man coming down there. Regardless, if someone came onto my property to "register you to vote" I'd be extremely annoyed and would tell them to leave, and then close the door on them.
