Are you using a line6 pedal with it?
I have the HD500, so it is a pedal

Same thing as the Pro though internally.

Oh yeah without a doubt. When I get my recto back I am going to try it in the loop an mess around with the effects. Mega bang for the buck factor. And it comes with software to so you can edit all your stuff and make set lists of presets and all that good stuff.

It can do 8 simultaneous effects too, right? It does seem like a great multi-effects unit, with the flexibility of a great recording unit to boot. Question -- can you dial in presets?

Great video!
Kind of. It will run out of DSP if you try to do too much, so you can get 8 depending on what you are doing. if you dont use amp models you can get 8 easily. With dual amp models you get about 2 more effects before it runs out. 1 amp model and 4-5 effects is pretty easy. Thats about the most I ever use.

+1

Ah im torn between the 500 and rack. Leaning more toward rack.

Can you change other midi devices with the HD500? I use a RJM mini amp gizmo for my amp head.

Depends on your needs and money :) I had the pedal long before the rack existed, although I cant say I would have spent the extra just to have it sit on my desk.

I have never tried the MIDI, but I assume it would. They actually updated a ton of MIDI stuff in the latest 1.40 update. They added many things that were missing in the MIDI. You might read about the updates and see if that includes what you need.

Rack?
Line6 HD Pro is a rack mount.

I usually will just run something like this into the loop return of my Mk III

The HD Pro has a Mic pre?
I think so. The HD500 does also.

It has never existed in software, but they announced at NAMM the new version 2.0 will include a mic pre sim and a bass amp sim.

Is there a difference between the Rack and the 500?
Connections and form factor.

The actual sound and features are the same.

Im afraid if I get the HD Pro or 500 I will be getting a DT25 or DT50

I actually got an ART SLA-2 on the way. I think I am going to put my tube amps away for awhile and focus on seeing if I can go modeling all the way. Ive been using it into my Triple Recto, but I am sure that is helping somewhere :D

I play it into monitors also, but I have never been able to get into that sound.... I still think modelers sound better into a poweramp and guitar cab than FRFR...
