Eleven Rack vs Line 6 HD Pro

I say get a used Axe-Fx standard since you can find them for around 1k. I just tried a POD HD500 and I didn't dig it. It's really limited as far as amp sims, the effects are pretty good though. It's decent through a pair of monitors but was pretty terrible through headphones and it just sounded wierd into the effects return of my amp.

I tried the 11r but something must have been up with it because I couldn't get a good sound out of it, and i tweaked believe me. IMHO the Axe is far superior to both for a little more money.

there s a guy over at ELEVENRACKPRESETS.COM selling one with expansion pack

apples & oranges between 11R & Axe FX. If you advise a used Axe FX, for "a little more than 1k" then compare that to a used 11R for < $500. The user interface is totally intutive on the 11R, and the amp sounds are decent. Depends on need.... for me, I love the interface, the ProTools software is awesome, I use the di tones for headphone jamming/recording at night, the mic ada interface for micing up a loud cab, an fx unit in the loop of my rm100, the reamping is cool, the ada for listening to inet music...that's a lot of functions for a cheap price ( I bought new for 4 payments of 180)

Gotta agree here.

I've owned them both, and the Eleven Rack interface owns the Axe FX interface. It took a LOT of practice to figure out the Axe-FX. I was up and running on the 11R in minutes. Plus, there are some decent crunch and gainy presets on the Eleven. The Axe FX had ZERO. :aww:

I am loving the Line 6 HD Pro vids. I've gotta get my hands on one of these!

I might get me one also. I don't know how long it will be til I get My Axe II. When I had the Line6 M13 I like the effects but I could not control it via midi and was really limited.

Yeah, the M13 is way too limited IMO too!

FWIW I just got an HD Pro and am totally in love with it. The high gain stuff is pretty good, but the cleans and effects are AWESOME.

Do you think it would make for a good multi effects unit with a Mesa?

Oh yeah without a doubt. When I get my recto back I am going to try it in the loop an mess around with the effects. Mega bang for the buck factor. And it comes with software to so you can edit all your stuff and make set lists of presets and all that good stuff.

Depends on the Recto. Most of them have a parallel loop that the Line 6 doesn't like. I cant use my HD500 with my Triple Recto.

Works great with my other amps though. I have had good luck playing with 4CM.

I've got the Royal, which has a serial loop ...

It can do 8 simultaneous effects too, right? It does seem like a great multi-effects unit, with the flexibility of a great recording unit to boot. Question -- can you dial in presets?

Great video!

Kind of. It will run out of DSP if you try to do too much, so you can get 8 depending on what you are doing. if you dont use amp models you can get 8 easily. With dual amp models you get about 2 more effects before it runs out. 1 amp model and 4-5 effects is pretty easy. Thats about the most I ever use.

Sorry, but what does the acronym DSP stand for again?

So --- as a multi-effect unit, I should be fine getting 8 simultaneous sounds, right?

It should unless you use 8 pitch shifters or 8 particle verbs

if you use 4CM the FX Loop takes 1 slot, so that would be 7. Volume pedal and wah each take a slot as well. Just things to consider.

Of course, you could just make different presets as well.
