I was just coming in here to say this!! ^^^
I'm a Metal & Hard/Prog Rock Guy that Loves
Zappa, Slayer, Megadeth, Dream Theater, Devin Townsend
Iron Maiden, DIO, Sabbath etc.....
I took my kid's to see Frozen and the Queen of
the movie started singing "Let it Go" and I was
Seriously Floored at how good the song was!!!
Disney really know's what they're doing,
that song was Great.

These are some of my favorites, not so much for extreme guitar work (although they are well done), but for the lyrics that work so well.

The Cure

Dave Matthews

Candlebox

i am one of the biggest fans of popular hits of the 70s. a total sucker for the sappiest stuff

burt bacharach is a monster in my book, writing hits for the carpenters, dionne warwick, tom jones,

and one hit wonders like england dan and john ford coley "id really love to see you tonight, jay furgusen "thunder island", sugarloaf "green eyed lady" starlight vocal band "afternoon delight"

and R&B hits from that era like where is the love, killing me softly, reunited, and one of my all time faves,

"betcha by golly wow"

Ok, let me have it :D

This song is the equivalent of taking a sleeping pill............always dug it

On the rock level? I really dig Kiss' I Was Made For Lovin You lol Do do do da do do do do dooo do do do da do do dooo

On a pop level I agree that chorus to Taylor Swift's Trouble is catchy as fuck and I love it, never heard the whole song though... Umm the song "Everything Is Awesome" Teagan and Sara ft Lonely Island did for the Lego Movie...

I actually like most of what's been posted already. Nothing to be embarrassed about.

Yup, I like Morrissey, too.

Although, I mentioned to a friend that I really dug this tune, and I got the weird look. Maybe this counts:

Thats a freaking amazing tune :D

as far as creating a mood or vibe it incredible IMO

Reminds me of when I was a kid, riding around in my mom's Ford Elite.
I don't actively seek it out to listen to it, but it still gets in my head about 40 years later.

Also, I won't lie, I have been a huge fan of weird Al since I was like 8.

Weird Al is the king. I can only sing his lyrics when I hear Smells like teen spirit, or Bad

Lee Aaaron, who ever played guitar on this track really knew what he was doing, great sound, great parts, great writing (except the lyrics of course, that's the embarrassing part!)and Lee is just an awesome singer.

Wow. That's awful. :) and embarrassing.

That's an example of what was wrong in the 80's, and why I was happy to see the puffy haired, ripped jeans, fringed jackets, and poppy aluminum "metal" go the way of the dodo bird.
I nominate you, and that band, for the award. :)

I wouldn't consider most of the stuff mentioned as embarrassing, so much as old nostalgic.

I'll probably get a good old-fasioned internet beatdown for this one, but in my defense it got me laid a lot in the 90's :D

don't know why but I'm completely incapable of embedding youtube vids anymore...

I love pretty much everything Pink has put out...so yeah.

Not really embarrassed by it, but it is pretty far from my usual musical thang.
