Picked one up pretty cheap the other day, and got to say it's actually a good amp for heavier stuff. I played a version 1 a long time ago and thought it sucked, so was pleasantly surprised that this thing can somewhat keeps up with a VH4 and Uberschall.

They don't seem to get much love - any fans here?

I think @dainbramage0 played the I version and said it did it for him, also.

Yea, hit up a jam room with a buddy and they had a powerball mk2. It chugs. Really easy to play through.

I've always liked the clips I've heard of them. Kinda raspy, chunky and somewhat compressed. I've heard these have problems cutting through in a whole band mix, and that they weren't really that loud for 100W, though. Is that the case?

It cut against the drums pretty well. I wasn't underwhelmed by the volume and it was only around 8-9 o clock on the master, channel volume at noon. I didn't have a decibel meter but it seemed competitive with other 100w heads. Definitely seemed to have a good amount of compression, at least on the 4th channel. Had the both midrange kerrang and a nice sag to it.
