+1 The only way I can figure that noise gates are so popular is that people must have some really noisy high gain amps. The only amp I had that I could have used a noise gate was a Peavey Transtube supreme head....

Well, idk...maybe Im doing something wrong, but playing metal through a 6505 with the gain levels that I need pretty much requires a noise gate, otherwise Im feeding back when the strings arent ringing...
