Try an NOS 5751 in V2. It'll sweeten it up and give you more range on the gain. I just couldn't bond with the red. Its absurd.

I tried, for me it took away some of the tight/fast response, so I put 12AX7 back.

Thanks! I use the blue channel just as much as the red, but its cool to have a huge gain channel if needed I noticed that red sounds less compressed with the gain really low, like below 9 o clock.

For the longest time my live rig was an EVH 100w stealth head, red channel with gain around 9 o clock, and a maxon OD808 boost. The harmonics were insane with that set up and surprisingly amazing clarity. I really miss that set up.

Thanks I agree, gain very low + boost makes it nice and chewy.
