In 40 years this is my first EVH guitar, never played any others.
Im a Gibson guy and had tons of guitars, Strats/Charvels.
Always thought heavy bodies & bigger headstocks = sustain. Clearly not the case with this guitar tho it weighs around 8.7lbs.
This is the $700 model from Indonesia. I gotta say im impressed and im not easy to win over.
40 years of Ed's experience shows in this guitar. Pickups are amazing for imports.
Same Wolfgang pups that are in the USA models are in this one.
Neck is chunky like a Fender C but not yuge, extremely comfy.
Stainless steel frets from the factory, snappy & articulate attack.
This guitar needs nothing upgraded out of the box to sound great but i have upgraded Floyd parts.
Everything else is staying stock.

I haven't noticed any resonance issues with my Wolfgangs. I think they sound really good.

However, I have Standards that have plain matte finishes. I have always thought guitars that were plain slabs of wood with thin matte finishes were always the best sounding guitars. The fancy archtop, binding, glassy finishes seem to always kill some resonance and natural openness.
