A tad bit more gain and a shift in mids. Kind of subtle. I typically don’t use itRdodson":1uk3orcd said:Super cool, Scott!
Please tell me what the C45 does, I can't really figure it out.

Rdodson":3v6l0hyp said:I just wish I had more control over the HBE channel, I rarely use it because it is (for me) too much - it is like not only a gain boost but a treble boost as well.

Personally I would take heyboer over classic tone. Splawn (iirc) switched to classic tone and I think that the earlier models sound better.CrazyNutz":1xs99kb0 said:trashedlostfdup":1xs99kb0 said:I can't say i would have used classic tone iron though.
Classic tone is quite good, actually. Friedman uses them for everything, except output transformer.

I have heyboer in an 18w and a 5f1 and classic tone in a jtm45. The 18w screams. They are still very nice though in the jtm45, maybe I was over critical.
I’m in the process of a similar build using the same chassis. Did you ever get faceplates? This thing took entirely to long to build. And while it's not nearly as tidy as FourT6and2's works of art, I put alot of effort into this thing and making sure I understand everthing I was doing. Just waiting on some panels to make it look proper
Classic Tone 100W Project Transformer
Classic Tone 100W Plexi OT
Classic Tone 3H Choke
12v regulated heaters and switching
WIMA Caps
Carbon Film resistors JJ anad IC filter caps
Valvestorm project chassis and offset headshell
Added Mid control for clean channel as well as used .047uf's in the tone stack
Changed switching to have LED lit for dirty and off for clean (Blue LED's sound better)
3 way excursion (M-L-T)
I tried to record it but the combination of my hack playing and crappy cell phone can't capture it proper
Yes, through valvestotmI’m in the process of a similar build using the same chassis. Did you ever get faceplates?
How did you go about ordering them so that they were drilled appropriately?Yes, through valvestotm
Through valvestorm. He designed the chassis, so he has the dimensions. They case predrilledHow did you go about ordering them so that they were drilled appropriately?
