It (the C45) sounds a tad more Bogner-ish to me when I have it switched on; does it mess with the CF? It does sound a bit smoother.
I just wish I had more control over the HBE channel, I rarely use it because it is (for me) too much - it is like not only a gain boost but a treble boost as well.

IMO, the attraction to C45 is when you roll back your volume control. C45 to me sounds quite a bit more full when the guitar volume is rolled back. But for tightness at full guitar volume, non-C45 sounds better to me.

Personally I would take heyboer over classic tone. Splawn (iirc) switched to classic tone and I think that the earlier models sound better.CrazyNutz":1xs99kb0 said:

I’m in the process of a similar build using the same chassis. Did you ever get faceplates?This thing took entirely to long to build. And while it's not nearly as tidy as FourT6and2's works of art, I put alot of effort into this thing and making sure I understand everthing I was doing. Just waiting on some panels to make it look proper

Carbon Film resistors JJ anad IC filter caps
Valvestorm project chassis and offset headshell
Added Mid control for clean channel as well as used .047uf's in the tone stack
Changed switching to have LED lit for dirty and off for clean (Blue LED's sound better)
3 way excursion (M-L-T)
I tried to record it but the combination of my hack playing and crappy cell phone can't capture it proper
