I think that might be because it's super wet? Most of that tone comes from the effects and reverb to my ears. Around 00:30, listen to the palm mute stuff. It's so saturated and has no dynamics IMO. Sure it captured something, but is that something that great and hard to capture? I'll bet that with no effects, most of us wouldn't like that tone at all.Digital Jams":2n0h1d6l said:GRK":2n0h1d6l said:I'll have to agree with Shea on this one![]()
The tone is great for what it is (was in the 80's) and great if you like that super wet tone... But if you listen closely, the distortion by itself isn't that impressive. But overall I think you did capture "that" sound for sure.
But I don't think that tone says anything great about AxeFX.![]()
See I disagree about your last line.
A 2u box replaced Zakk's entire studio take with Marshalls dimed and all kinds of post mastering. Like that tone or not the axefx nailed that tone in a package you could bring with you while commuting on a bike.
I'm really not an anti-AxeFX person. I've heard great clips of it. But this one isn't doing much for me although Kudos for Mark's production skills.
