Axl just wants to be Elton John. His songs like this aren’t bad but just not high end GnR.

No Izzy, no G'n'R. Appetite was chock full of interesting dual guitar interplay and contrasting parts that they never seemed to touch upon again. I think I recall that Izzy was barely involved in the Use your Illusion records. Those sounded like Axl solo albums with Slash and Duff guesting on them. Somehow Axl wanted to become an Elton John or Freddy Mercury rocking behind a piano kind of "serious" frontman.
Izzy was barely involved with illusion. I think everything after AFD was awful. Izzy played a huge part on AFD.

This rawness and fury were gone by Illusion. It was a polished turd. AFD is one of my all time top 10. The riffs, solos, vocals, and songs were so bad ass. I remember being shocked listening to that album. I was super young, 6th grade, and every night I went to bed listening to AFD seeing myself as slash on stage playing to stadiums. Just living in the craziest fantasy world of delusional grandeur. Shocked at the riffs and solos. The fat production and the builds, another layer of guitar with each pass. I remember also feeling similar towards nothings shocking. In the middle of all that LA glam rock GNR and Janes came busting through with raw bad assery. Where is the next young group of hungry dudes ready to blow the roof off? The world needs a new rock powerhouse.

The thing about Guns is back in the day there was no separation between Axl the performer and Axl the person. The dude seemed incapable of holding himself back when it came to anything that pissed him off. He called out music journalists by name on his album, he jumped off stage to hit a guy in the fuckin head, he went off on his own bandmates on-stage for being junkies, he refused to back down from anything like some sort of maniac.
I get that but I think a lot of us would not handle being biggest rockstar on earth at 21 too well. It’s probably nuts and not good mentally.

It’s pretty lame. Axl’s voice is down to what, one octave? Throw away riffs, no feeling to anything, gay lyrics.

Unironically the couple new Winger songs I have heard blow this shit out of the water. Actually the new Winger material is legitimately good.

I dig the Explorer at 3:10.
The song reminded me of being 15 for a second, so that was cool.

It’s just an axl pop song . I don’t understand how it’s called bad . I can see how someone dislikes it

Wow... tough crowd. I didn't think it was bad. I do think the piano was too out front in the mix though. Unlike Crue, GNR can still play their asses off live.
Yeah I don't get this--in what world is a healthy GnR releasing new material a bad thing? I agree, Axl was a douche in the past but he sounds great and after seeing this vid he looks damn good. Shit, Slash was a junkie and he looks great as well. I liked the song too.

I saw GnR in 92 with Metallica and they were a hot mess. Metallica blew them off the stage. Saw them at Fenway Park last year and they were fantastic. I'll take GnR 2.0 gladly, look forward to more stuff.
