Nice clip! Sounds like you're bonding with it quite well, in a short time.
It took me a while to wrap my head around the Wizard feel. I was addicted, once I got it.

Hard to capture the in-room feel of a Wiz with a mic. The recorded sound is like a really good hot-rodded JCM800. The feel, + that lil bit xtra of harmonics, punch and sustain, is hard to relay thru a recording.

Lovely amps. Takes all that raw, unruly energy of a cranked JCM800, and refines it just right, tightening the lows, dialing out the harshness, adding plenty of gain, without stomping on that open and direct feel. Actually feels even more direct and responsive, imo.

Bet the 4 6v6s punch like a mule!

This is the first amp I’ve ever had with 6v6’s. Was a little apprehensive about them, as I’ve not had great experience with 84’s and for some reason I thought they’d be similar. Even though I am an at home player these days, I almost always prefer amps with big tubes and iron. The iron on the Wizard is plenty big…and it more than hangs with the Cherry Bomb. The articulation, clarity, punch, feel, aggressiveness is impressive.

I found I really like 6v6s with gain. The Bogner Goldfinger SL I have uses them and it sounds great. I like being able to really add some poweramp juice, particularly for gain tones that aren’t supposed to be super percussive and dry like is in style now. The Wizard sounds great!

Doh! I was thinking of the SUF Cherry Bomb, fantastic treble booster. Coulda had a V8.

One of my fav amps was a 20w 4-holer with 6v6s. I tend to favor them over el84s for whatever reason. First time I heard 4 6v6s in an amp was a Dr Z Remedy. I was not prepared for the amount of thump and volume. It was so freaking loud!
I can imagine how the Wizard preamp sounds with that power section. I'd love to play one.

Sure is…the tone i get using that Explorer is a bit deeper and thicker than my ESP’s or Gutierrez. Great axe when I’m in that mood.

Hell yeah dude. I have gone from having NO GAS to now being interested in several higher end high gain amps, so I’m around more.

You almost always hear the string noise in my vids, for a couple reasons….I don’t play at gig volume often these days, and I pick like a gorilla. Always have
