Terrible news. John4021 aka Unkle John aka John Brittain passed away tonight.

John was my big brother from another mother, we met many years ago at an "amp fest" that I had at my home during the heyday of the HCAF. He showed up first, just walked into my house dragging a VHT UL full stack and we became great friends.

My wife and I hung out with John and his significant other all the time, many shananigans ensued. I can't believe my friend is gone. Yesterday we were making plans to hook up at the bar this weekend.

My avatar is actually John when he was in his 20s...mullet and all. He still had his driver's license from back then, and I snuck a photo of it one day.

John was a proud Marine veteran, and very quick to help anyone who needed it.

I'm sure many from this forum have had a good deal or two with John and/or have spoken with him.

His death was very unexpected, but we were able to be with him and Sue when the machines were turned off.

RIP John.

So sorry to hear this. Met him at that ampfest and bought several pieces of gear from him. Used to bump into you both around town from time to time.

This is very sad news. John was always a welcome voice in the forums. We did some deals over the years. He was a lot of fun, a good guy, and very supportive here. Sorry for your loss and thanks for letting us know.

Guy was a lifer here, and will be missed

RIP and condolences to all that knew and loved him. Prayers for him and his loved ones. 🙏

Wow, horrible news. Condolences to you and his family. RIP John, you will be missed and not forgotten.😞

Sincere condolences to John's family and close friends. What a great contributor to this forum. SO generous moving excellent gear at near giveaway prices for forum members. Always had something positive to say whenever he posted on a thread. We really need as much of that kind of energy as we can get.
