perhaps they should look into a sub forum ..called "peacocks" where members can puff up their feathers and argue with each other on whose opinion is right or wrong without any evidence.Just a place for good old arguments ... if you go in there you can expect someone to challenge your opinion .That way maybe we could keep it out of the regular forum that actually has a wealth of useful information and is a fun read from time to time

Not to belabour the topic, but here's what's needed - cut Cliff out of the mix as well, have him focus sololey on product development, production, etc. Keep a couple cats very close to him who know all the operational nuances of the product, as well as production numbers and ETA. Have these latter people tend to the forum - not beta testers and people with their heads so far up Cliff's ass they can't be objective. When in depth insight is needed that cannot be addressed by the folks close to the source and with immense hands on knowledge, Cliff can come it and lay it down.

Run it like a business - not a church.

So this is the guy that has caused so much tension over on that forum?

Artie Fufkin...Polymer Records???

He hardly runs this thing like a church.

I could do better PR and customer support than any of them could. It's not hard. It's like none of these guys have ever worked in customer service before in their lives.

There was another thread after that to do with cab IR's. Jay and Kevin from Ownhammer were *ahem* discussing and Cliff also joined in. Not sure how the thread turned out as I left reading half way through but it was gone shortly after. Soon after noticed Jay's mod status. I suppose the question is did he jump or was he pushed?

That is the same thread I am talking about.

One of Cliff's retorts started something like this

"and you would be wrong again"

it had a graph to show Jay what he was missing. I had this vision of Jay reading Cliff's post.

That was a crazy video!!! I just found the subtitled version... all that for Unreal Tournament...

And yes, apologies... I should have mentioned my implication was more like that of a bizarre obsessed cult of sorts, not a church.

Best,

Do not blame the kid. He just copies the behavior of his parents and drinks to much coke. But I heard the whole family went to hospital for ulcar surgery.

But serious. Is this real?

If you sold your one and only rig to be able to order a Axe 2 then I can only assume you were hardly dependent on it.

I think most sellers were just trying to grab the best price for their Ultras and Standards before the Axe 2 grabbed a large chunk of the market and devalued them. Fair enough I suppose ...

Personally I'm more than happy about the mass dump of Ultras ..... just bought one s/h and don't give a fiddlers if its a wee bit behind the times ... it's still a top notch box of tricks..... and I'm a cheap hobbyist SOB who does maybe 2 gigs live a month.

If you're pissed at the FX 2 roll out speed well it's never been hidden that FAS are a hyper small company and hopefully take pride in their product construction quality. I mean Ferrari or Lamborghini could set up plants in China and pump out cars at a vast rate .... but most owners would be horrified at that ..... much more prestige to be had by being on a waiting list for that boutique product built by the original creative team.

If it was me making them I'd be seriously debating whether or not to licence production to a small Korean or Chinese backstreet factory and take the money and run .... err I mean use the profits to fund R&D for the Axe Fx 3 and Axe Fx floor version. If the world beating Apple get their products assembled in China why not the Axe FX or similar budget priced products based on its technology? It may happen sometime in the future of course when some other company starts up and has a modeller with the DNA of every famous guitarist implanted and the ability to load a cab with different colour vinyl coverings with a small dent in the top right speaker cone where a roadie called Zack dropped it on the switch of a 1984 Tube Screamer ... but for now I tip my hat to the FAS crew for keeping it close to the heart.

I personally take great stock in the opinions of people like Mark Day - he backs it up by video demonstrations and is in the business as a player and tutor so can be forgiven for having all the coolest gear .... well nearly forgiven ... lucky b*****d (except for the G Major 2 <snigger>)! I've blindly bought gear just because of it's name in the past only to find I didn't like it - but I feel that even though I've never played one, there's enough evidence out there now that the Axe FX is a good versatile and, importantly, usable tool for both live and home recording work so I'm sold on it and have waited until I'm in a position to acquire it.

As for Cliff? Well all he can do is keep pumping them out and also I think he needs to sort out Afghanistan and pay off the US debt to China ..... by next wednesday .... or I'll post a really nasty comment.

It certainly looks like somethings have changed at the FAS Chocolate factory.

Tom King has started his own website again ( http://atomicamps.com/) so it looks like the relation with FAS is at least distancing.
Jay Mitchell is moderator of and his way of communicating seems more normal.

If these are good developments only time will tell. Just hoping the pissing by the moderators and the adm will be less or over.

Nice thread title censor

Changed it. But as mentioned I needed the space.

Nice looking dame as Avatare you have their.
If it is your wive then congrats.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, seems they're coming around, still, not really packing 'em and stacking 'em as far as production goes, but so be it - the Axe-II is slowly trickling into our musical society once again, and it seems things are slowly getting in order on the FAS site.

Bout time really.

Yay!!

Folks getting their Axe-fx II's after two months of it being "announced" is actually really good... when I ordered my Ultra it took 6 months after I was on the waiting list to get the not only a coupon code but an email saying the Ultras were available... some folks waited over 8 months for theirs...
