This is a very interesting thread. What's the topic?
I think that Bill stole Joe's Girlfriend at a Backyard BBQ.....or something along those lines.

Lots of people running laps here.

The most disappointing thing I see is a member here posting a PM from another member so as to make a private issue public. PM's are private...if the sender wanted it in the thread he would have posted it there. Putting it there yourself was classless and juvenile.

The guy who sent me the condescending PM did not allow reply PMs to his account. I tried several times to private message him back, but he disabled the feature.

I usually would've handled it differently, but yesterday was an exception. We all have those days.

Understood...I'm apparently having one of those days today.

My .02 cents for all of this.

It's his forum and his moderators (that also make appearances or are moderators on other forums) that creates most of the Fractal shit storm. A clear point of this is Scott Peterson over at TGP spamming all day long about Fractal. Albiet he tries to downplay it but it's as obvious as the nose on your face. I don't see a single soul over on TGP spamming product like he does almost every day and I'm sure if they did it would be stopped very quickly. Almost every post about an AXE FX has SP involved. How can you be a beta tester, Fractal moderator and remain objective with no bias and have no conflict of interest hanging over you whilst moderating another very well known site. It's a joke and a poor one.

Another glaring example of the hypocrisy, audacity and disrespect of its moderators - Scott Peterson comes onto this forum in this post to mention another forum (clearly Fractal's forum) and sounds off at this forum's members yet on TGP where he is a moderator this type of post isn't allowed. I haven't checked Fractal's site but I wouldn't be surprised if it's allowed there either.

Yes, this is my take on it using my words based on my experience.

I've been a member of this forum far longer than you.

I am co-owner of TGP; am clearly open with my status as it goes with Fractal and forthcoming with disclosure when i do post. I am not selling anything, nor am I 'spamming'. Perhaps you should explain your definition of that to me, because it's not how it goes with me.

This isn't TGP; the rules here are different and I talk squarely and plainly no matter what forum. If you don't agree with me, or like me, so be it. I've no issue with that, nor with being corrected, or wrong. But in this case, you are talking BS.

I don't represent Fractal in any way. I don't 'downplay' anything. I only post about what I know and only from first hand experience. I don't start posts/threads talking shit about people I don't know.

Do what you do; believe what you must. But don't expect me to to just take your shit. Be a big boy and use your real name and give us full disclosure of who you are and your affiliations and credentials to spout off in the manner you do. Everyone's a critic on the Internet, nothing new. But at least back it up with your real name and context of why your opinion is worth anything.

Your above post comes off exactly as I've described you. I don't recall working for or reporting to you, your request that I share my personal details with you is juvenile, absurd and irrelevant.

Let me know if you ever come to Australia and I'll happily meet up with you one on one to display and deliver my non internet "big boy" details, supported opinion and attitude you're calling out for. This request and approach is what I would call real and without doubt relevant that I'm happy to share with you.

I still believe you're a spammer and a hypocrite as your TGP & FAS actions are what I'm observing and reviewing and not your above over emotional outburst. I certainly don't consider it a response.

You're not on TGP or FAS here so I can speak my mind without your usual hypocritical moderator interference. A refreshing needed change is what I call it.

I've really got nothing more to say to you as I've been very clear so I'd like to close the matter publicly as the majority of posters have got the Fractal forum problematic picture. If you want to continue on spare everyone and use the PM option.

BTW: You may have been a registered member on this site longer than I, however, I've been lurking far longer than you may suspect. Again, the relevance of such absurd statements from you is?

"Now we are increasingly hearing about hardware issues, eg bad encoders (turn the knob clockwise and the preset goes down or increases 3-4 at a time), headphone outputs (and inputs) wired opposite to the main outputs on the motherboard, random boot failures. There are obvious QC issues with the units yet Fractal wouldn't even consider that the unit may be the issue, in my case, and put all anomalies on user error or "hearing perception" (Fractal said I am experiencing the Haas effect)."

Owie.

Prior to getting my Axe II, I was getting myself wound up with all the complaints as well. When I got it though, the headphone wire swap took all of 5 minutes and all the stuff you hear from some guys are far outweighed by the greatness of this thing. If you're waiting on one, my suggestion is wait. Don't get bogged down in that forum with all the minutia. This fucker is a lot of fun and all that bullshit can take away from being excited about getting one. Problem is now I want the midi switcher some expression pedals and some full range monitors.

I stopped waiting and got this with some of the money I was saving for an Axe II. No Axe for me.

Of the issues with the Axe II I have read about, the only one that has me the slightest bit concerned is the intermittent bootup issue. Some owners are saying every once in a great while the unit just doesn't boot. powering it down and back up seems to fix this. Fractal Audio stated that this is a known anomaly with the processor. But if I am not mistaken it is the same processor on the Ultra and I had never read anyone having this problem with the ultra. I never had that problem with my Ultra.

Everything else I have read is just the typical stuff you find in the early stages of any electronic product launch. They will be fixing bugs for a while as is the case with every other high end electronic device on the market

Nothing beats the real deal.

Looks cool!

Gee Dada... axe(FX) to grind or what? Every thread, you don't miss a chance to bitch.

Just an observation. But an accurate one.

FWIW, my II has none of those 'issues' noted by some folks. Just something to mention. You make out as it some small company with small production won't have any shake out issues. Of course they are. Not tantamount to getting yourself so worked up all the time. Comes with being an early adapter of cutting edge technology. If it bothers you - don't get one.

Nothing ever wrong with a tried and true amp rig. Nothing wrong with any rig as long as you know what you are getting or not getting and how to work with it.

My .02.

I am one of the customers severely butthurt there was no Indication FA was going to release the Axe 2.i've stated it in another thread.i bought standatd last january, and then news of the 2 comes and i am disappointed i didnt wait.well had i waited,i wouldn't have an opinion on the Axe,cuz i most likely still wouldn't have had an oportunnity to play thru one cuz of the waitlist and all.part of my butthurt was my own misunderstanding of info.
However, time heals all wounds.i was able to sell my 6 month old Standard in June for $1250.(not a bad resale IMO)?FA made some blunders,i made some blunders,no one person, nor one company is perfect.and after missing the fun of diving into the Standard, the sounds that cameout of the Standard,i was able to since save up the cash i would have otherwise, and am on the waiting for the 2!

And since i have no experience with the ultra, and have no opinion on the ultra,i am in the same exact boat i would have been in had the 2 been announced in a more consumer(for me any way) way.

So had i not bought the standard in january, saved my cash to be on the waitlist for the 2, i would be...On THE SAME EXACT WAITLIST I AM ON NOW!!!!

So,no harm no foul.plus i have the added benefit of the little bit of experience with the Standard.so,in the long run ,i'm betteroff really.

So Cliff, take care of yourself.get yourself healthy.its your company, run it how you may.everyone makes mistakes.learn from them.your products are what the customers will keep coming back for.giving you and your staff, more opportunities to redeem past failures, mistakes.

Sincerely,former disgruntled customer.
