friedman smallbox 50

dave, will the smallbox 50 also be available in combo version like the DS?
 
It will but we have not made it yet. It will be a 1x12 combo.
 
Whoa whoa whoa, the small box is going to come in a combo format!?!
 
If Dave took the current smallbox 50, made the 1st channel either a simple or full clean and left everything else the same (e.g. other channel standard Brown Eye, FX loop, etc.), THAT would be a huge seller. Everybody is looking for smaller amps these days, and to have a Fendery clean matched with the Brown Eye gain channel in a grab and go 1x12 combo would be huge.
 
I think he already knows what's gonna sell. The 50 watter with a Plexi channel (which can be either clean or crunchy or somewhere in between) and the BE channel is the winning combo to a lot of guys.

I'll be interested to see how clean it stays when you turn it up.

My guess is it will sound pushed with some hair on it. Coupled with the fact that it is only 50 watts, there probably won't be a lot of headroom at higher volumes. It will be interesting to see...

This sounds about right.
 
a matching 1x12 would also be perfect...in fact that would be my preference...I think a friedman amp with suhr cab is also not what Dave likes ;-)

It actually has plenty of clean headroom when running the volume high, gain low. I was able to thump my 2x12 v30 cab pretty hard with the cleans. Of course, I dig the fact that I can dial the gain up for crunch, back off guitar volume for cleans, and hit it with a pedal for good raunch, all on that one channel.
