Wow, amazing video by Johan. I didn't expect the Twin Sister to sound that aggressive and raw, as Johan himself mentions, it can do a great impression of early Metallica tones. It kind of gives me gas...

But I read elsewhere that the Jake E Lee amp 2nd channel was based on the Shirley preamp. Does that mean that the Jake E Lee can make similar high gain sounds? As good as the Twin Sister sounds, I will always prefer a 100watt vs lower wattage amps for high gain purposes.

The front end on the DS is based on a JCM800 so it all makes sense

Yeah, that's true.

Probably the JEL100 is the best Friedman for early Metallica tones bearing in mind is like a Plexi and a JCM800 in one amp.

According to Dave the JEL amp started out as a Smallbox. I don’t think it’s based on the DS at all. The Twin Sister can come closer to the Smallbox than the DS can but still different beast. They can sound much more alike in clips than they do in person and feel.
