Im literally looking at mine, in its box, ready to be taken to UPS as a return to Musicians Friend.
First friedman that disappointed me - ive had 6 now - i wanted it to have plexi cleans. It doesnt. Ill go back to a smallbox eventually. But thats not what you asked about.
Its got excellent fat cleans though and goes up to and past JCM800 levels of gain. Takes pedals like a CHOMP-ion! (Thats good). Has the big bottom end that the Shirley is famous for but now it can be effectively dialed down and out of the way.
For what i wanted it was a letdown. That was my bad for buying into youtube reviewers hype and not simply thinking about it - its a jcm800 pre! Its not gonna sound like a plexi therefore.
NOW - For a country act? I think it would be great actually. A reverb, compressor and a treble booster and ur in business all gig long
The clip above is nice and shows some great range!
