Fryette PS2?

I was looking at getting a KSR PA50 in the future for use with modeller but they are currently having issues with orders, etc. I saw the Fryette PS-2A which is 50 watts. Anyone have any experience with these? Just curious how it works with a modeller and also wondering how biasing works with one of these?

Checkout the Fryette support forum. I just saw a thread this week on bias for the PS series. This link is specific to your question https://forum.fryette.com/t/purchasing-tubes-for-my-ps100/4273

There are good YT vids also done by Fryette that answer a lot of the operational differences between the PS models. You can even plug the PS into itself to get power tube saturation. I have plugged my amps into the PS to use as both an attenuator (big amps) and a class 5 to make it roar. I've also run the line out of my GPDIIR into my PS which is similar to your application.

I went with the PS100 and have a footswitch. This gives you the ability to have a louder channel with it's own pres and depth controls.

It must have pretty flat/wide frequency response given it's meant for reamping.

I've not used one with a modeler but did with a few old Superleads. Sounded great to me.
I'm actually considering a Friedman IR-J or Fractal AM4 into it and seems like it will sound killer. If i do get a loud amp at some point, cool I can use it for that too!

At first, I didn't understand thr PS-2A but looked at a manual and makes sense.

I have a PS-100 that I've used with my Synergy preamps. It's very transparent and lets the module's tone come through without coloring it. I'd assume it would be similar with a PS-2 & modeler.

I had one in the past with Syn2 and Marshall 4*12 / greenback and i found it too bright for my taste . I had some squeeling issues with real Amps too so i sold it .

I agree with this. I had the PS1 and now have the PS100. They are great power amps for preamps and modelers.

I have a PS-2, it works as advertised. You can use it with modellers as well as your amps, so a versatile piece of gear.
