Man . When these old threads come up I just wonder where all these people are now that once commentated and were members
A few are dead. Most of them can be found on the TGP or Facebook.

I'm in contact with a few thousand musicians on Facebook. Most of the people no longer here I see there.

I recently borrowed a friend's Fryette Sig:X and was completely blown away. So smooth, so refined, so responsive, amazing at bedroom volume (whisper), amazing at rehearsal, so responsive, so versatile, can be beautiful sounding for jazz or brutal for angry metal and everything in between. I was close to buying a Splawn next but this Fryette may just be my next amp, and may put an end to a lot of GAS. Playing through this amp for the first time was a big "wow" moment where my jaw hit the floor. It can be chewy or stiff, smooth or hairy, what an amazing amp. Steve Fryette has outdone himself.

This is ONLY my opinion, I don't want to start an argument. We ALL like different things. :)
Rich did you ever get a Sig X ?

Why won’t they come back here ?
It's similar to how some here view TGP or they just moved on.

I was off RT most of the time for years. I only came back because mailman asked me.

If you look there is maybe 50 regulars here. Then maybe a other 100 that look around occasionally. Very ruff numbers.

TGP has thousands of users. Facebook groups based around music and gear is much bigger than that.

Rig Talk is a very small group with a fairly limited range of taste and age group. Earlier it was pretty much just the Lay it Down forum. It's moved on to be the various colors of heavy place. That is going to draw a very limited number of people.

I really dislike facebook groups where most people seem to have gone, so hard to find stuff on there and you miss a ton of things without any good way to sort posts. On forums at least you can find stuff fairly easily and it serves a decent repository of knowledge.

I still use my Sig X more than any of my other amps. I bought it new when it came out in early 2008. I currently have 17 amps. 5 of them are Fryette.
Awesome man!!!!! Can't wait to get the Sig X again, i remember loving the amp big time, just was in a phase of trying every amp available on here, it was the best amp i tried that I didn't have already. Went through a shitload of them.

SigX is the one i want back.

But more people could be like me .I hate Jose based amps and listen to weird death metal and hardcore . But I enjoy everything on here to learn and for fun

Definitely let us know what you think about coming back to the Sig X.

Live its like having a six channel amp with the boost on each channel. The boost on the Clean is useful at drum set volumes or turn it on to get vintage crunch. I spend most my time on the Rhythm channel. The fuller bass works for most of the things I do. It's like a modified Hiwatt. The Lead channel I set up kind of like a Mesa Mark series. All the channels can do a lot more. But that is how I use it with the band. It's really about the versatility for me. I use a lot of different types of sounds. So the Sig X ability to change as my needs and taste changes is a big part of it for me.

These settings I was going for Who Live at Leeds on Clean. Boost should be on. Deliverance on Rhythm. Ultra Lead on Lead.
It's in the ballpark anyway.
