6550's might not be what I'm looking for, but am willing to try a pair for the collection..
I'd like to see if I can get the Sig's topend to open up a bit like my D120.. I've been having fun rolling tubes in both amps the last couple of days.
The D120 with KT88's has a top that's like sparkler fountain blowing freely in the wind where the Sig is more like a narrow blast that burns out quicker..
My Sig also has a lot more lowmid bass. I'd like to get that dialed back a little..
I think the Sig seems to work best with Chinese preamp tubes because they are bright and narrow with a longplate for V1. I have an old Sylvania longplate from a Baldwin Organ in V5 for the Clean that works really well.
