If AI paid into Social Security i wouldn't worry nearly as much. Not much can be done; other countries are pursuing AI, and AI will give the top countries advantages over other countries.
I've posted this many times before; I've been working in AI for most of my career until my recent retirement; I deployed my first AI system (an expert system) in 1988, and have created many automation and AI systems since.
Every AI system I created/helped create has simplified human tasks, eliminated human tasks or some combination of both. Many of these AI systems that simplified human tasks / provided human assistants, were usually enhanced to eliminate more and more complex human tasks over time.
In the last 5 years, with modern AI (generative AI, and now agentic AI, and soon quantum AI,...) that process has accelerated, and has been deployed in many different industries and job roles.
Any job that gathers, correlates, analyzes, etc. data will be replaced by AI, especially at the entry level; in many business domains and business functions; same for stationary robotics; as robotics advances, even human mobile physical work (trades) will eventually be replaced.
Companies that effectively use AI will dominate their industries in the future.
If AI paid into Social Security i wouldn't worry nearly as much.
It's also going to be helpful during the coming crusades.
