What is the popular choice for fx for the BE? Pedals? All in one unit? What plays nice and what doesn't?

That's a pretty broad question. Any/everything sounds good on a Friedman. If you like stuff out front it can handle it, if you want it in the loop it does that well too. His circuits are built for both and do it in spades especially the BE. From personal experience Wampler, JHS, Strymon, TC, Boss, J Rockett, Dunlop, all sound great. I sure the Line 6 M series sounds good too if your into all in one units. Happy GAS'n!

I own a smallbox and i really don't care for any drive or boost pedals on the BE channel. The koko boost is the only thing i like with it but i feel like the amp always sounds better with no boost pedals. Clean channel is obviously different. Strymon flint and el cap are a most for the loop. Plus they have great buffers on board.

I've had great results with rack equipment through the Loop and pedal board to the Front end, great response & pick articulation.

What I'm using now is ok, just wondering if there are certain units that others are getting great results with. I don't really care about ODs...more for verbs, delays, phaser, flanger, chorus, etc...

Man I keep saying it but you should check out the Source Audio One Series stuff. Priced modestly but sounds incredible AND one modulation pedal can be 3 different effects.

Id have to invest in a switcher as well. I'm done with tap dancing

Save your money for an FX8. You'll be able to do everything with one box.

They are MIDI capable. You DID say "pedals" in the OP... just sayin'...

Right but I'd still need a midi switcher. =)

I like old Bud Box MXR and DOD effects, and I have a VooDoo Labs GCX and GCP for switching

Try an Empress ParaEQ with a Capistan or Timeline. But LP freak is right, you might find all you need with a Fractal fx8.

I use AxEfx II and TC Eletronic G-Force through the Efx-loop, sounds great!

I'll say the only pedal I didn't like at all with the Friedman amp was a digital Micro POG. Had the Octron for awhile before I traded for a POG and the analog Octron is just super tight and punchy in comparison. I think I'll sell the POG and but another Octron.
Also would like to hear if anyone owns the SubNUp from TC and if they like it with a Friedman. I just had deja vu big time.

Wah: As far as Wah's go I love the RMC stuff, especially the 3FL.
Modulation: I have a Mobius and maybe it's only cause I haven't tweaked it enough but I'm imagining better modulated tones can be had from individual pedals. Maybe a H9 sounds better I don't know.
Delay; Timeline has it all if you know how to work it.
Solo drive pedal: Timmy remains king.

Been through a couple switchers and if you have 4-5 pedal front and 2-3 in loop the Musicom Labs 62M works perfect with the BE100 for ch switching and a medium board with all the MIDI you would need.

I'm using the 4 cable method with a Fractal FX8, and lovin' it. No tone suck, using the relay to do amp channel switching, and the effects are top notch. And you can do all sorts of stuff with one footswitch tap.
