I just nabbed two G12H-30's for really cheap. I'm planning on putting them in a JCM 800 4212 combo. Are they gonna sound ok or should I not even bother. I have zero experience with this speaker. :scared:

anniversarys??? Good bottom and top end...lots of people mix them with V30's

I had a killer 83 2203. It sounded great with the Heritage H30.

I personally think they are the best speakers for the JCM and JVM amps. They have the mid bite of a V30 that cuts, but none of the flubby bottom end and harsh highs. They are well balanced "Marshall" speakers.
They sound amazing with every Marshall I've owned, and with every Fortin, Cameron, or other modded Marshall amp.
I like the cheaper anniversary better than the Heritage.
I have a CAA 4x12 loaded with them and they sound amazing for the Marshall style amps.

I love the Heritage 75hz H30's. However, I couldn't disagree more about the previous post. The Anniversary H30's are much brighter and looser in the lows than a V30. If that's the case, then the V30's you are comparing to need to be broken in. The Heritage 75hz have more of a "M" speaker voicing. The Anniversaries are harsh and scooped in comparison.

The 75hz is what I have in a 412. The 800 sounded much better threw it than my Greenback/V30 cab.

They're the Anniversary ones. Right now the amp has a V-30 and a repaired G12T-75.

With the Anniversarys Im telling you to put one V30 and one G12H in the 2X12...best of both worlds....try it you will see

I will be trying the v30 / g12h 30 anniversary mix in a Marshall 4x12 or maybe even in my überkab I'm not a gt75 fan so we shall see ?

I'm either going to use the anniversary speakers as a pair and end up selling the V-30 and scrapping the repaired G12T-75, or selling the anniversarys and using the V-30 and the G12T-75. Whichever way sounds best to my ear.

Yep, this!!!

Yes the V30 and G12H30 70th are a great mix

G12T-75... that speaker should just not exist

I generally agree with this...but the other day I played through a well worn '87 Marshall cab with original G12 T75s..sounded REALLY good, almost greenbackish..I didn't believe him when he told me what speakers were in there..I pulled off the speaker inputs and looked and couldn't believe it..

Yep, they do sound good with certain amps
But the amps they sound good with, I'm willing to bet sound twice as good with G12-65's

I like the anni g12h30s. They have a nice warm buttery sound, but can get boomy on the lows and the highs can be harsh with some amps, even after they are broken in. I like them better in opened back cabs. Only issue wo a jcm800 is that the top end may be too sharp for some.
