Can any of you who have used both please describe feel, tone, response, etc. of both?
I'm looking to mix one of these with a c90 in a Road King Horizontal 212 cab.

K100 hands down over the 75. Similar, though not identical voicing with a faster attack and more efficiency (louder). More mids than a 75, but its still a bit on the scooped side IMO.

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like it will mix well with the C90

Shoot a PM to Aeroic... he's a huge fan of the K100s, and has extensive experience with both speakers.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the K100s. They KILL in a single 112 too...

I like the K 100 very much. The 75 is way down the list from there.

Does anyone like the 75 better than the 100 ???

There is no comparison IMO. The G12K100 is fantastic. Cab, Cab construction has a lot to do with how a speaker sounds so my point of reference is Diezel front loaded cab. The G12K100 is a very balanced and neutral speaker. Nothing harsh, nothing sterile or muddy in any way. It projects and articulates very well and is very crisp. It is aggressive but smooth and works well in any type of tones, tunings, amps, guitars etc. I have used.

i prefer 75s to 100s :P

100s sound great with CL80s tho..same resonance peak, same sensitivity.
pure kick ass!

if i have to use one speaker, 6 out of 10 would be 75, v30 and cl80 rounding out the other 2.

:P just being a pain!

brae

75s sound like utter horse shit compared to the G12K-100s imo. More balanced midrange, sweeter top end, thicker lo-mids, and a very deep low end. No fizzy scooped harsh turd-for-tone.

I like 75's and V30's mixed in a 4x12. I was not a fan of K100's and V30's and I did not like any of them by themselves.

Way too many factors involved with players rigs to get a definative end all answer.

I agree, too hard to get an end all answer.
But what I'm picking up here is that the 100's are more balanced in the mids, better bass response, smoother highs, and more powerful than the 75's. Sounds good to me

As long as they aren't "stuffy" or muffled.

Basicaly, If you like the 75's, you should be happy with the K100's.

this for sure.

mike has that same setup in his randall XXL cabinet and says its the greatest thing since sliced bread.

personally i dont prefer the K100's. id rather have the 75's to be honest. but there are too many variables and tone is too subjective at this point i believe.
