30 Marshall heads and at least 20 cabs. The band is shoved into a corner of the stage the size of an apartment kitchen.
The man is an absolute beast at what he does. I've always loved his authority on the instrument, and that huge vibrato.
I was bored to tears after 10 minutes. I could not wait for that show (ie the one long e minor scale) to be over. JFC.
He's doing a different format now IMO...at the end of the 90's and early 2000s his shows were once again pinnacle. Facing the Animal(like on the LIVE! 98 DVD) and Alchemy Yngwie was on top again, had a fantastic set of musicians in the band and he was doing real shows. People often tout his first set of records as the height of his chops, naw....it was Alchemy(great album and the height of his chops, even lots of new licks...the writing was awesome)...Great playing on Facing the Animal too and the songs were awesome. He was on fire in that time period.
But again, in that time period, he had Olausson, Leven, Boals...he was kicking ass with great musicians at his side. Now it's not the same. He needs to get a great band with him again and do the shows where his solos compliment awesome tracks.
That said, he's the king of the genre....and he hasn't lost it, but just like he always has done...he goes through cycles of greatness and just getting it done....which either way is on a completely different level than most.
No slop, awesome tone, pushing the limit, emotion galore and awesome tunes and performances from the whole band:
On fucking point during that time period!:

Some inhuman shit here, whole solo is awesome....that last decending run in to that groove shred at the end of the solo...just fucking crazy:

He's not doing that anymore..
