Vonny, since when do you own an 8 string multi scale guitar? Also, why doesnt it have dubbel kreems?

What is the recommended Hat and matching Footware for the 8 string multiscale?

They aren't that difficult to adjust to, honestly

if you can play bass at all? You can play an 8 string

Will it sound good is the real question
Nope cant play bass.
Its missing my 2 favorite strings.
Also stretch is too much for me

I tried playing a 7 string once and kept wanting to do everything starting on the lowest string, not the next to lowest and it was frustrating me so I just said fuck it and haven't ever played or touched another one lol

Yeah you'd have trouble with it then.

It's not difficult. Especially with a multiscale. It literally takes a couple of weeks to get used to. The really frustrating part is everything you play sounding like modern dogshit lol

I don’t think it’s easy to just play 8 string . The bridge is bigger and people can not guard the strings and play clearly . I’ve seen many think they sound good on 8 but there always some string noise . Playing bass is nothing like 8 string . Fucjk most guys can’t strum on 8 string using cowboy chords because of the bridge ( they bump the low 2 abd cabt kero the chords clean ) . I’m not on your ass but this 100 percent wrong . It might have felt easy for you but 99 percent of the people who try can’t keep it clean . Plus just thst facr is why many guys hate 7s . Got an extra string to mute if you up high on the neck .

I've literally never had any of these problems, or seen any of my students have them when switching

I think every step up (both to a 7 string and an 8 string) requires a little bit of adjustment time, sure

But if you're having that much trouble muting the strings, your muting technique wasn't on lock in the first place

And the reason bass is relevant is because of the longer scale length and tensions - saying "it's nothing" like playing bass is stupid, of course it is for your left hand. If you're used to the higher string tensions, larger distance between frets of a bass it's extremely similar for playing anything single notes

Then your not noticing the cleanliness at all .even the best 8 string player of all time went back to 7 because he was sucking of hurting that string . ( Charlie hunter ) . I think when it comes to 8 string and using scales and chord too . That’s a problem for even good players . I’m not taking about just playing on top 2 know strings . Absolutelky im right . If you use the other 6 strings too like a normally guitarist even Steve Vai says it’s too odd and not fun for him . I’d love to sit in a room with you and jam 8 strings together and see if you even understand what I’m saying . If you think it’s not a problem for most people your trolling me . People can’t play cleaning until adapting to the bigger bridge . I most it daily and tech others to do it .Abd playing 8 string guitar is nothing like a bass . Nothing. If you play all 8 strings not just 2 it ain’t just a simple transition for even a good player .

I think I understand what you're saying, I just don't think it's anywhere near as big of an issue as you seem to think it is

Yeah, if you try to play "thumb on top" hendrix style chords youre gonna have a bad time with an extended range guitar - no shit

If you have decent technique though, it's not that huge of an adjustment. It normally takes 2-3 weeks if someone is practicing every day, or maybe a month or two if they are more haphazard in their practice schedule IME with students - then generally they are fine with it

I refuse to teach beginners and lower level intermediates though, maybe that's what you're talking about - I won't even let them fuck around with 7 or 8 strings until they are fully proficient at two hand string muting. Not just "right hand" but using your left hand and non-fretting fingers to mute unwanted strings
