start sayin goodbye to your balls... with diezel you buy new ones ;)

The serial number on that Herbert is most likely 2007 or early 2008.

As for the guy digging more of a vintage Marshall vibe, try Channel 2- (Minus) with a good bit of treble and presence. Major Bawls !!!!

That's correct. October 27th 2007 shipped into Anaheim CA. Mr. Diezel is awesome!! He's putting me in touch with a partner of his to get me a white Tolex kit. It's going to look sick in white!!

@ Alex, no disrespect towards the ENGL's, like I said I heard them and craved one for so long, but honestly, which one has the meanest most intentse distortion between the two, and which one would you keep if you could only choose one?!?! :-)

@Crimson, I talked to the guy personally on the phone and he seemed really legit. He's got his own studio with a shit ton of gear. I think he said he actually had two Diezel's but he only needed one, haha. I think maybe he realized he was going to take a hit on it. I'm pretty stoked he made the deal with me. He's also got a Diezel 4X12 cab he's selling too. I'm thinking about waiting a month or two and picking that up from him as well. Probably about 700 shipped. I think those cabs go for about 1600 brand new if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for the info man I appreciate it. Oh and hearing you talk about how sick the Herbert sounds live makes me feel better. Thanks dude.
He kept the VH4.

You would need to find out if it's the older style, or newer style cab. THe new style will have silver piping around the grille like in the picture below, no piping would obviously be old style. I would assume old cab anyway, because the newer german ones go for a lot more than that used.

I wouldn't brag, clearly he doesn't know squat since he prefers vintage marshalls anyway.

Looks like it's got the silver piping. Would you agree??

Yeah looks like a rear loaded cab. do yourself a favor and get a front loaded one. They are tighter sounding and have better response imo

How can you tell the difference. It's such a good deal though. Do you really think its worth it!?

Thats a weird one, because to my knowledge the salt and pepper grille was no longer an option with the newer style german made cabs. I say it's old style, especially for that price.

It's a rear load and you can tell by the recessed and slightly slanted grille. FL cabs have a flat grille that comes right to the edge of the box. Again, look at my cab in the picture that I posted, you'll see the difference in the grille. FL cabs are better for harder music.

You want white tolex now, until you realize how easy it is to get smudge marks on it.

THAT is the perpetual question of guitarists.... With that being said.... White tolex is a horrible idea if you play out alot. If it's just gonna sit in your room then it will be fine. but if it's just gonna sit in your room what does it matter what color it is?

I'll have to get some more details from the guy about the cab. I'm assuming he bought the cab with the amp, so early 2008? Is that considered an older model? I'll see what he says. I talked to one of the guys from Diezel, Peter's partner I believe and it will be about 120 bucks for a new white headshell plus 300 bucks shipping, haha. So I'll probably wait on that if I even do it at all. It doesn't really matter I guess, I'm just a huge fan of white. I also like to customize stuff. I'll see if I can find an old pic of my 6505+. I did some pretty cool custom work to it myself, it was a one of a kind, but I ended up selling it on Ebay.

Tell me this is not one of the coolest 6505+'s you've ever seen!!

With all due respect, I don't like the color/theme at all there. :aww:

If the cab is 2008, it's a tough call. I want to say the new cab hadn't been released yet, I think they didn't come out until '09 but I could be mistaken.
