EL 34 Hot Cat, 1x12 combo. Man, what a fantastic amp!! The EOB tone on channel 1 was very inspiring. Gain channel was amazing too. Just the right amount of grind with plenty of punch and clarity. Will definitely be my next amp.

I recently picked up a Hot Cat 30 head, and it is killer! Really great tones on channel one. I usually push mine well past the point of breaking up, and then just back off on the guitar's volume knob when I need it cleaner. Channel 2 is really great overdrive. Lots of punch, clarity, and tight/defined bottom end, even with higher output humbuckers.

I wish I had discovered this amp a lot sooner. It's one of the few amps I've owned where I like the clean channel as much as the overdrive side. And it likes humbuckers as much as single coils, so that's an added bonus for me.

The thing that was cool is the selectable master volume and the half power switch. And the knobs on the EQ section of both channels really did something.

If you guys dig the Hotcat, you really need to check out the Lynx. Very much the same platform but the Lynx adds mid controls that make the amp sooo much better. I've had two versions of the Hotcat and the Lynx is far superior to both, IMO. It's so thick and clear and singing... and it stands out in a mix like nothing else. One of the last amps I'd ever sell.
