I would be an expert, and it takes one to know one.Jay Mitchell":240io958 said:And, as we can see, you're constantly inventing new ones.Rogue":240io958 said:Jay Mitchell":240io958 said:There is more than one way to be complete douchebag.![]()

He wanted to know whether the KPA or Axe-Fx would be better for low-volume use. I didn't promote anything, nor did I give speaker advice. All I did was to correct your BS. Obviously it got under your skin, but maybe your skin is just too damn thin. Just sayin'....
There was nothing wrong with your response, dude. Quite a reasonable reply to the OP. Jay gets his rocks off on being the biggest dickhead in the world, so he saw the opening and jumped. Call him a dickhead and be done with it.Audioholic":lieedula said:OK Jay, Seeming how I was not the only one suggesting that he look at different monitoring solutions rather then different modellers as the difference in low volume satisfaction, your right, my BS was so uncalled for. I will never suggest anything other the the amazing CLR designed by Jay mitchell, that not only sounds friggen amazing at low volumes, it won't bother the neighbors, won't be over kill, even though its in mono, will be better then a stereo set of studio monitors, (even though your CLR IS better then most studio monitors). your right. I will stop my BS and only suggest the CLR for anything and anything. Maybe YOU will understand that it is a discussion forum, and different ideas are shared, and maybe the original question wasn't the right question, so in regards of truly helping, not being self serving arrogant asshat, I will offer some ideas, based on what I think is best. But clearly anything other the your CLR is pure crap and shouldn't even be considered. Not for ANY use, the CLR IS THE ONLY AND BEST solution on the planet for anyone and everyone... friggen asshat

We're all entitled to opinions - and as I've said before, opinions are like assholes; everyone's got one and if it ain't yours, it typically stinks.
I'm sorry my query with respect to why Mr. Mitchell was being dissed a few posts up resulted in this thread's direction. I have NO dog in this fight; just hoping to keep RT a "cool" place for "cool" cats.

Looking forward to Mo's take on these.

Point of order: that's "two thirds hog."Ventura":6vdqjsih said:I'm going full hog on getting two rather than one,
I hope it all works out for you. I still own a few amps, but I haven't played them very much over the past 5 years. But I have never recommended the Axe-Fx - of either generation - for everyone. It works for some folks, not so much for others.I made the decision a couple months back to really reassess whether or not having the number of stadium sized heads and 4x12 backline and 20 some odd boutique stomps and a host of other related periphery is really necessary or even practically being utilized in my life right now at this time.
I've made this point before, and I'll make it again here: if you feel like there's "something missing" from the Axe-Fx, I would not necessarily expect a change of monitor to fix that. It might, but I wouldn't bet on it. A CLR will enable you to hear exactly what's coming out of the Axe-Fx, but you may still not like what you hear. I've never gotten anywhere close to the sounds I wanted with Cliff's default advanced amp block parameters. My AFX II is on firmware 7, so I can't speak to how the current (9 something) firmware works. But IME, I've always had to dial what I wanted. It was never there "out of the box." That never bothered me (although repeating the process after every freaking firmware revision has really gotten old), but it can drive some people crazy. This is why I'm really eager to get these CLRs and really eager to know if I'll be able to lessen my load of otherwise emotionally attached "stuff".
