Ground loop issue; at least I think that’s what it is.

Hey guys, reaching out for some help here. Tonight I noticed some humming when I went to reamp, that’s never been there before. Even when the amp is not connected to my reamp box and interface, and just ran directly to my cab it sounds noticeably more buzz/hum. Same deal even when switching amps. I bought a power conditioner tonight to see if that helps; it’ll be here in a few days.

Any suggestions?

Signal chin is Apollo twin out to re amp box, to amp head, in to st rock reactive load, back into Apollo twin. Thanks for the help.

That's not a group loop issue - this occurs when you have multiple paths to ground. If you're plugging direct into your amp, then amp to cab there's only one mains powered device. You're not using any pedals or anything else with a PSU correct?

Sounds more like interference from an external source (lighting, appliances) or as you suspected dirty power. Also possible it's the instrument or speaker cable you're using.

Try a different wall socket. Try the easy cheap things 1st.

An inexpensive quick fix/check (sometimes) is get a ground lift plug adapter and experiment by putting it in different places. It would not be used on your biggest amp/best grounded device. If that doesn't make sense I can reexplain.

these plugs have 3 female in's and 2 male out's

I’ll give it all a shot. See what it is. I noticed switching a light off in the room made a drastic difference.
