My guess is this is an Anti 2nd Amendment post hidden in the Health subforum. I'm not clicking on this drivel but I do respect what these ER Trauma folks have to go through. My wife is an RN, but not in trauma. Does that help?

Oh I knew exactly what it was. Just sometimes like to hear an opinion of why certain folks want to get rid of guns. I said today to someone on the forum, the only thing that keeps the American people safe are the guns. BTW There are lots of ways to kill people, guns are just one way. Just so the OP knows, I was a trauma surgeon in Memphis for 8 years and took care of loads of gunshot wounds. I know that video he posted in real time. In fact, I was on that goofy Trauma Life in the ER show in 98ish. However, most trauma and death is cause by blunt trauma ie cars and trucks. Should we get rid of cars ? Deer stands? Planes. Ladders. Motorcycles, ATVs? Bats, knives? I have made an entire career fixing injuries, death and disease yet I’ve have never thought that I’d be safer without guns in the world, in fact, I’d be very nervous for my safety. A gun is the great equalizer. I’m not interested in hurting anyone but I will not be a lamb if someone decides that they want to kill me for whatever reason. If we got rid of guns then 2 things will happen. 1) people will find another way to kill others
2) a potentially corrupt government will wreak havoc on its population (history proves this over and over).
I could go on for hours. My opinion will never change.

That, and the bad guys will always have guns whether the law says they can or not.
